And Virgil, the beast, or in this instance, the shadow man, watches Logan come back and read in his library. Every day at first he tries to scare him off. Logan is very resistant and doesn’t believe in the supernatural.

Until he acts the spots Virgil, he runs out frightened, but maybe after two or three days, comes back, deciding that he wants to finish what he was reading, apologize to the mysterious gentleman and possibly befriend him.

Anyways, they become friends he realizes that some of the stuff in the castle is sentient and shouldn’t be, and eventually, this leads to him finding the rose petals.

And that’s all I really have for my vision right now.

I might be reaching. But I watched the Apothecary diaries again and I just got to the "shrine of choosing" episode. This detail and theory of mine has been brewing for a while now. Spoilers up ahead!

When they got the puzzle correct, it was basically Jinshi who was playing it with Maomao as his "consort". Even though Maomao took full direction of it, the person that matters is the royal who initiated it in the first place.

It's just great foreshadowing for jinshi and maomao's relationship, given Jinshi's true identity (his actual identity, not what Jinshi thinks is his true identity). He basically did the ritual/test as it was supposed to be done. Since he can't solve it himself, he had to bring in someone who did and since he accomplished it, he could've been chosen for the position as emperor with the consort who helped him which was Maomao!!

what if Logan didn’t physically show up at the start of SvS was because Thomas was very visibly & verbally pissed off and angry and frustrated & he would of been showing as Orange infront of the others. So he shows up as pixel until Thomas is calmed down, and not angry and just sad
