Working on an Alpha Legion test scheme. I've been building up from purple shadows up to a bluer indigo with many many thin glazes. This was also a chance to practice with some neon pink glow for the eyes!

Yes, making this taught me a lot. No, I don’t like looking at it on my shelf. Yes, I can improve my current project by destroying the old for parts.

Case and point, this baneblade proxy I made with spare parts and jenga blocks. It was fun to make (if time-consuming) and I learned a lot about the properties of different kinds of glue and sculpting from scratch and greebling and making moving parts and so on, but the final product is only “ok” to me. It’s huge, which is fun, but the paintjob is pretty meh and it never really felt finished or polished. I played a game with it which was fun (it took out a titanic chaos knight but then got oneshot by another) and that was all I wanted from it, really.

So yesterday I pulled it apart and put all the salvageable bits back in my bits box :3

I agree with most of this but also? This is. Not the Way to go about this. Because, as we already see on the post, people are going 'well what about my collection I've had for years"???? The correct message to push is to not engage with anything Harry Potter related now. Do not write fanfiction. Do not buy merch. Do not see the new show. Do not buy new books. Do not give her any reason to think she is actively being supported and do not fund her, because yes, that harms trans people. Yes, even writing fanfiction. Yes, even discussing the books. She looks at that and points to it as proof people support her, and has outright stated that if you still support her, you agree with her message. She also uses every penny she makes to harm trans people in any way she can. So let's not shame people for having old HP merch or try to say that having old HP merch is harmful, because it isn't and it confuses the message and gives people a whataboutism/straw man/loop hole. If you want to get rid of your old HP crap, fine- that's fine and totally valid. But if you do not, that's fine, too. You paid money for those. They may have been given to you by someone not around anymore or hold otherwise sentimental value. You are not being harmful for quietly keeping the books your grandma bought for you ten years ago or the stuffed plushie your dad bought you for Christmas ten years ago or whatever.

You are also valid for having any fond memories tainted and ruined by her behavior and getting rid of those items. But 'burning it' and shit is also performative and really crappy for the environment (as well as potentially unsafe) so let's stick to throwing them away or donating them, thanks.
