Hello, I'm Remus. I'm an amateur typesetter who has not done any bookbinding. I started typesetting in September 2022 and have mostly done fanfiction but have done some original fiction. This blog is dedicated to my typesets.
It's important to know that I do not make typesets unless the author has given permission and all of my typesets are free to download on my Google Classroom in pdf form (code: inqub5c). Everything is for personal use and should only ever be used for such.
For more information, send an ask, check out my carrd, or join the classroom. If you want to message me, the best place to do so is Instagram.
This typeset for The Once and Future Kings (book two) by @crystaiskiess is available on my Google Classroom (code: inqub5c). After a year and a half, I am back with this typeset. Wish me luck on typesetting the remaining 700k words.
(Sorry for the terrible quality of the screenshots. I had to zoom out a lot, which destroys quality.)
Hi! Do you share your typesets? I'm dying to read And like the cycle of the year, we begin again for the first time, and i thought about doing it in hard copy🤍
I do! I have a Google Classroom with the code: inqub5c and I'm also thinking of setting up a Patreon to put them all on. They'd still be free, but it'd be for people who aren't really interested in using Google Classroom. If you do use it, please send a photo! I'd love to see it!
Hello, I uploaded a tutorial on the basics of how I typeset fanfictions if you'd like to check it out. I am not a professional, and this is all personal preference. There is not a set way to typeset, but this is a way it can be done if you're interested in learning.
To see/use my typesets, I have a Google classroom (code: inqub5c). Everything I make is for personal use only with no intent to sell.
The fic I'm typesetting is Foxkill by boomturkey if you're interested in reading it!
Hey! Sorry for disappearing but my life became literally only work and sleep. I want to get back into typesetting, however i want to try learning a new software. Hopefully soon I’ll be posting new typesets!
Fox in the Hole by boomturkey aka one of my favorite Haikyuu!! fics. This is the first typeset where I've tried doing chapter heading art. It's very new to me, so I'm still unsure how I feel about it, but I definitely don't hate it. I think it adds to it.
This typeset of It Was One Kingdom, Once by @queerofthedagger is available on my Google Classroom (code: inqub5c). I highly recommend this fic and everything the author writes.
I'm really inspired to try myself !! Do you have any resources that you'd recommend? <3
Thank you so much!! :)
This is mainly going to be a list of accounts to check out and programs I use. Most tutorials I've seen are on TikTok, and TikTok video links sometimes don't work. I'm not sure if you want resources over typesetting and binding or just binding, so I will give you everything since I don't gatekeep. (Everything is under the cut.)
For typesetting, my biggest resource was just looking things up. I'd see something done in a published book or in a fic bind and try to figure out how to do it. Page layout is difficult to figure out since everyone does theirs differently, so I just messed around with it until I liked what it looked like on a PDF or one of the account below had margins I liked.
Here are some accounts that have typesets and/or binding tutorials. I want to say right now that the main fandom having fics binded is Harry Potter, so about all of these are HP fic binders.

I use Adobe Acrobat to convert my Word Docs to PDFs since it's the only program that doesn't erase the fun fonts I use and lets me have photos in the document. Then I use the free program Bookbinder JS. There's apparently a computer program you can buy for $20, but I think what I'm using now works and is free.
Another tip is that watching tutorials for rebinds are incredibly helpful as well. There's multiple ways of binding a book, so you have options and it's good to know them.
I hope this is good enough? Sorry that I'm not linking videos, but so many of those creators have series of how to bind fics and tips on how to make the process easier. For typesets, I am always willing to make one if you're interested (no pressure, though).
This typeset is for And You Rip My Ribcage Open and Devour What's Truly Yours by @personaje-fics is available on my Google Classroom (code: inqub5c). It's one of my favorite Merlin/Lancelot fics because vampire! Merlin is a must.
Pages per signature is referring to sheets, but it's another way to divide things. The website I use to make my PDFs has an option for PDFs for different signatures. Example is that And like the cycle of the year, we begin again is 20 sheets per signature, which makes it 11 signatures with its page count.
I feel like this sounds so confusing. It is sheets not pages. If you'd like, I can post some great bookbinding resources/tips that I have saved or people I follow.
The Book of Merthur (Book One) by @cbk1000 typeset is available on my Google Classroom (code: inqub5c). Another typeset that took me quite a bit of time to finish (21 hours). Here we are, finally finished with it.
This typeset is for And like the cycle of the year, we begin again by @katherynefromphilly. Huge thank you to @imthursdaysyme for drawing the chapter heading art. I will continue to thank them forever. This is available on my Google Classroom (code: inqub5c) for anyone wanting to use it.
This typeset for The Once and Future Kings (book one) by @crystaiskiess is available on my Google Classroom (code: inqub5c). After working on this typeset for 24.1 hours, I'm going to say it's done and finally move onto working on the rest of them. Hopefully everyone likes it as much as I do.
