another batman 2021 ending i like:
alfred asks bruce what he’s trying to do by becoming batman and bruce pauses, then says “to make sure no child becomes like me”
and his answer continues as a voiceover:
“i’m protecting the kids who have a family to go home to-“
you see a small romani boy in a circus outfit practicing acrobatics with his smiling parents.
“and the kids who don’t.”
you see a smaller skinny boy with black hair and blue eyes sitting alone at a table in a fancy house.
“i’m protecting the kids who have to provide for their family-“
you see another boy with black hair and blue eyes crouching beside his mother, who has a needle sticking out of her arm.
“and the kids who have a family to provide for them.”
you see a pregnant woman with brown hair sitting in a chair, reading a book and rubbing her belly.
“i’m going to make sure that no kid ends-“
you see the romani boy in a robin suit screaming in pain as alfred stitches up a bullet wound.
you see another boy in a robin suit bloodied and beaten as somebody strikes him over the head with a crowbar.
you see a third boy in a robin suit desperately fending off two men in masks, his movements frenzied and his eyes wide with fear.
you see a young boy, who cannot be more than 8, holding a bloodied sword and grinning as he slits a man’s throat, with the brown haired woman smiling proudly at him.
it cuts back to alfred, who is nodding.
“i think that’s very noble of you, sir.”
