Who am I? With not enough time to do all that I would like to or is time an illusion? I create to create happiness within myself and in others with colours, words and images. So am I a multi-medium artist, not necessarily combining different media in one art piece? Does it matter? So let me continue to enjoy creating a ceramic sculpture in the morning, write a chapter for my next book in the afternoon, perhaps get myself in a meditative state creating a free-hand mandala in the evening to wake up the next morning inspired to create a colourful painting. It is all intuitive and following my dream. Isis knows. Perhaps that is why her red moon started showing up in my paintings many years ago.
My horoscope bags are for sale. But not only that. Many more products can be seen on the RedBubble site. My speciality is creating mandalas and I really enjoyed creating this series. Each mandala is in the colour of the specific zodiac sign and has a symbol of the sign itself and its planet. Each mandala also contains three meaningful symbols. Tao for balance, two fish symbolizing prosperity and a lotus flower representing overcoming problems. A lovely gift to that special friend. Also if that special friend is you yourself!
Inspiration
It has been a busy week, trying to get my head around the social media. I prefer to just create but I feel I need to share my work. Especially knowing that it has touched people’s hearts. When I write or paint I get transported to a different world, which is already a gift to me. However, when someone is inspired by something I have created, then I know that I am doing exactly that which I was supposed to do on this fascinating planet.
This week was a beautiful example. My article about the German translation of my book 'Cheers, the hidden voices of alcoholism' immediately received a reaction. The husband of a courageous lady had sought help for his addiction only a few days before. A milestone in their yearlong struggle. She felt it was no coincidence to stumble upon my article and I am sure my book will help them on their path, thanks to the power of recognition. I myself have moved on more than four years ago after a long-term relationship with a partner with an alcohol addiction, but I feel humble to be able to inspire others to find a way out of the isolation that this problem more than often creates.
The coming week I intend to dedicate to writing but if a 'coincidence' opens up another pathway for me to follow, then I will listen to my heart and follow my intuition.
