Don't Shove It Down Our Throats
We are taught to treat everyone equal. Gays, lesbians, trans, people of color, etc.
I don’t care if you’re straight, gay, lesbian, trans, pan, unclassified, black, white, brown, or whatever the case may be.
I don’t see people that differently. Sometimes I may question why people are a certain way or how they think but I’m not going to judge them for it.
I know it’s a struggle daily for them. But I do not believe that it should constantly be shoved down our throats that everyone is equal. We understand it and it will only make it worse constantly shoving it down our throats.
“You need to be involved in activities that support gays” “You need to include that person because they are black and you have no black people in the group” “They are a girl/boy too so invite them to hang out”
They need to realize that some people aren’t included because they have a nasty personality, don’t meet the requirements for the group, or maybe they act entitled just because they are different.
I respect everyone. But the ones we are constantly reminded to respect and include don’t always show the same respect to us. Why shove it down our throats and not theirs?
I’m straight, part white, born and classify myself as female.
There isn’t a parade for straight people.
There isn’t a shirt that says “proud to be white.”
There isn’t a big talks about the awareness of me being born female and classifying myself as a female.
I may not understand why someone born female wants to classify as male or vice versa…I may not understand how a female/male can like like someone of any age and/or gender…but SO WHAT?
I’m not treating anyone differently because of it. It’s not my job to understand it. Just like they may not understand how I can like someone of a different gender or why I do some things I do.
EVERYONE is born different.
EVERYONE knows it.
EVERYONE doesn’t have to understand it.
I don’t need it shoved down my throat.
I get dirty looks for being white or being straight.
Some people who shove all this down our throats are racist. They mostly preach to a majority of white people about being racist and that’s because what white people did in history. Some people of color give me dirty looks when I just look at them normal because they think I judge their color just based on the fact that I’m a different color.
It’s incredible that I’m judged or that I’m racist just because I’m white. I’m born in a different era than the white people years and years ago.
But yet I have to treat everyone equally.
Luckily I agree with that but don’t shove it down my throat.

I hope we both remember our heritage and traditions and can live together judgement free.

I hope we both can accessorize the way we want!
A lot of people have good morals. Things aren’t what they used to be. There are many people that aren’t treating those people right but they aren’t showing up to the parades, talks, or ceremonies.
I have friends who are gay, lesbian, pan, trans, black, oriental, white, Hispanic, etc. I know where I stand and I don't classify anyone as being wrong for who they are because it's different than who I am. I accept all and I know some people don't but they won't be going to those events people throw for raising gay awareness or any awareness they don't want or care for. Keep doing you and maybe they will do them once they realize who you are and what you do doesn't change their own life or the world they live in.
So please stop shoving down our throats gay awareness, black awareness, trans awareness.
I would hate for straight awareness, white awareness, and born and classified the same gender awareness parades, talks, and ceremonies to start.
Everyone is different. Everyone should realize it. Not everyone has to understand it. Not everyone has to feel comfortable with it.
We don’t have to understand it or be comfortable with it as long as we treat everyone equal. Forget what makes us different. Remember where you came from and remember who you are. Maybe we can learn from each other rather than constantly shove who we are down people’s throats.
