I am so Terror-brained that when I was making tamales with my mom last night, I spent the whole time thinking of headcanons for the Terror characters eating tamales
Terror Tamales Headcanons
It may seem like a statistically high amount of them are trying to eat the husk, but I assure you I have, with wide eyed horror, witnessed non-Latinos do this upon first encountering a tamale a disturbing number of times. I don't understand it
Sir John- tries to a eat tamale with the corn husk on, gets embarrassed when you tell him he must unwrap it first, and lies that he likes to eat the husk to save face. The spice content of regular tamales would kill him, but I think he would like tamales dulces, especially the ones with apples and raisins
Crozier- tries to eat it with the corn husk on. You can't tell if it's because he doesn't know how to eat a tamale or if he's just drunk. He enjoys them but does use half a pint of sour cream because it is spicy. I think he would fit in well at a Mexican gathering because Irish and Mexicans have a lot of cultural overlap when it comes to partying
Fitzjames- has eaten tamales before so knows what he is doing. Loves green chili tamales. Not a big fan of tamales dulces
Little- tries to eat with the husk on, gets embarrassed when called out but he doesn't even cry about it! Be proud of him! It's too spicy but he doesn't want to be rude so he eats it and says he loves it. He does such a convincing job, you give him four more that he eats out of politeness. He cries in the shower after this. He never eats another tamale again
Hodgson- I believe this man would do truly terrible things for red pork tamales
Irving- watches everyone else before he starts eating so he knows how to do it correctly. Has a religious experience upon tasting it and ends up eating more than everyone else. Literally tamales changed his life
Goodsir- he thinks they are good and he wants to help make them next time. You let him spread masa on the corn husks (this is the job you usually give kids btw)
Silna- takes a bite and obviously does not like them. Her honesty is appreciated. She would enjoy carne asada, though!
Blanky- eats the husk. Actually likes the husk. Stunning and frightening. Also insists he can handle the spiciest ones and though he is visibly suffering and sweating, he insists they are "too mild"
Hickey- gushes about how great the tamales are and wants to be taught how to make them. Steals your family's recipe to sell to a recipe website
Jopson- does not like the tamales and just kind of picks at them throughout the meal to seem like he is eating
Dr. Stanley- refuses to eat them because they "look unappetising"
Tozer- tries to eat the husk, thanks you when you let him know he shouldn't do that. Then proceeds to put ketchup on the tamale and you are compelled to kick him out of your house
David Young- too weak to survive even the mildest of savoury tamales. Will eat tamales dulces with cream cheese and berries
