I got to see The Last Dinner Party play in Denver last night! They are absolutely amazing live. I hate concerts because loud noises + flashing lights = misery for me, but they were totally worth the migraine I got after
Boyd is honestly such a great character he's like if you took a deer which was about to be hit head-on by a speeding Jeep Wrangler and turned it into a person
You know I think what's wrong with me is I haven't seen the ocean in 15 years I think that's why I feel like shit all the time I need to go down to the sea for my health
THE POLAR NIGHT WOULD FIX ME THE POLAR NIGHT WOULD FIX ME THE POLAR NIGHT WOULD FIX MEM THE PLOAURA NIGHT WOUDL FIX MEEEE
Rewatched Ravenous and lowkey the human meat stew looked really good so I had to pause the movie and make some for myself. I then proceeded to spend three hours making a nice stew, take a photo, drop my phone in the bowl, clean soup off the phone and the kitchen rug, shower (soup on me), and only now am I able to eat and finish watching the movie (the soup is very good) (it is close to 2 in the morning)
Version of Ravenous (1999) where they're all rats and it's called Ratvenous and they die in a mousetrap

Hampstead is the Place to Ruralise as seen in The Terror
This song appears to have originally been written by Watkyn Williams in the 1860s, although it is strangely hard to find anything about it online! I have been able to find recordings of the full song, but I cannot parse what the singer is saying, so I only transcribed the part we hear in episode 6. This is sheet music for voice, tambourine, mandolin, and fiddle. In the show, a lute (I think? It's dark) is being played, but I know very little about the lute, so I used mandolin instead, as I am familiar with that.
Is it a bit anachronistic that Irving is singing this song in the 1840s? Possibly. Is it a bop, though? I think so!
Feel free to use this sheet music however you like, though tag me if you do! I would love to see what you do with it!

if the dj is taking requests, hampstead is the place to ruralise transcription plsss
I actually have it scheduled to post later today! It is the one that took me the longest to transcribe, so I was saving the best for last
The Silver Swan as heard in The Terror
Here is the sheet music for the song Morfin and the Erebus Boys (this is their band name, to me) sing in episode 3

I was having a bad day so my mom surprised me with a DVD of Ravenous she borrowed from a friend and we watched it together and ate cookies. I feel a lot better now. New comfort movie :)
If I had money, I would create a theatre company that ONLY casts/hires disabled actors, crew, and artists because I am getting so tired of the shit abled people in the theatre scene pull.
Why do you cast abled actors to play disabled characters when the disabled actors are right there? Why do you expect us to teach the abled actor how to "act autistic" or use a wheelchair or walk with a limp while never giving us a chance on the stage? Why are the stage and the backstage innacessible to wheelchair users? Why is the light booth only reachable if you can climb a ladder? Why is "historical accuracy" more important than an actor's mobility aid (as if disabled people didn't fucking exist in the past!?!!!?)? Why do you "have to" use strobe lights and can't accommodate for a photosensitive cast or crew member? Why is it "impossible" for you to have an e-script (which the licensing agency gives you) for those with bad eyesight? Why can't a costume be modified to discretely carry an inhaler or epipen? Why can't a performer with chronic fatigue sit down during some scenes? Why is an actor's speech impediment "too distracting" to give them a speaking role? How does casting an actress with Down's syndrome as the love interest "send the wrong message"? Why is someone's facial difference "too scary for children in the audience" but "we do this haunted house every year you should consider auditioning for"? Why can't you change the choreagraphy to be less dangerous for someone with hEDS? Why is an actor with POTS "a liability that we just can't deal with"? Why do you find it too hard to get allergen free food when an actor is meant to eat on stage? Why do you complain to other theatres that a disabled person is "difficult to work with" for requesting reasonable accommodations?
These are all things that have happened to myself or people I know from the three nearest city's theatre scenes. And this is fucking community theatre where people aren't even getting paid!
The Terror Intro Theme
I totally forgot I transcribed some of the music from The Terror a few months ago. Here's a little piano sheet music for The Terror's intro theme, specifically the one from episode 1. If you watch the intro of every episode, you will notice the music actually changes slightly with each episode, becoming more discordant. It's a super cool detail that I always loved!
