Nora put on her sunglasses, the sun getting in her eyes. She squinted, annoyed at the heat today. "Just because I'm a vampire who can go out in the sunlight doesn't mean I like it all that much." She muttered unhappily.

cristina almost laughed in the stranger's face, but caught herself. she brought her hand to her mouth for a brief moment and then tried to keep a blank expression. she was a doctor after all and she'd seen her fair share of patients in differing states of delusion. "vampire. very funny. sure. right."

nobody in the history of the universe had ever been as pleased to see an ex as keeley was to see roy in that moment. as much as she wasn't minding being in dc, and as much as she could pretty much talk the ear off of anyone, regardless of whether she'd known them for five minutes or five years, not having anyone familiar around had been a pain in the arse. "thank fuck you're here!" she breathed, throwing herself at him in a hug that probably entailed a bit too much physical contact for someone trying to claim she was happy on her own. "wait, fuck - you do know who i am, don't you?"

"you gotta be fucking joking me." his words sounded harsh, but he didn't mean it that way. he was just shocked to see a familiar face in this hellhole. he even happily hugged her back, although he'd probably deny the happily part if ever asked.

"of fucking course i do." he pulled away from the hug and looked her up and down with a raised brow. "why wouldn't i?"

something felt suspicious about cordelia to zoey. she couldn't pinpoint it. part of her, ever the one of the group to have little to no filter wanted to ask if she knew she smelled funny, but that was ridiculous. moreover, what was truly ridiculous was that despite being a demon hunter for quite some time now, she probably had the worst demondar of anyone around. no, unless it screamed demon, had marks, watered plants with coffee, she was determined to see elsewise. instead, she blurted out another stupid thing she had once said before.

"are you a magician? because that's absolutely something a magician would say and do."

"hmmm..." zoey flipped through one of her many notebooks full of lyrics. this particular notebook was a mix of some of her best hits and some new things she'd thought might be best hits, but never really got to be fleshed out. she tapped her pencil against the paper and sighed, hoping the words would come to her.

"you don't think singing about demons and fighting them is a little too intense for here, do you?" she already knew the answer was probably yes, but still she looked up at the other with big, wide, almost pleading eyes. demon hunting songs were her specialty. what if she couldn't do that here?

zoey felt like she had just started to get used to this strange place, having only been here for about a month. from readjusting to just speaking english again, to working through some horrible writer's block to learning to be alone with her thoughts again, she thought she'd seen it all. she should have known better. everything about this place felt off, but all of that came a crashing halt the moment she spotted him—the closest thing to a ghost she'd seen in a while.

"you," was all she could manage. 'you're not supposed to be'—no, she couldn't finish that thought.

"couch, couch, couch, couch," zoey chanted. she raised her arms up and down in tandem. she even shook her butt a bit in excitement.

she couldn't remember the last time she'd taken a proper break. back home, it had been a constant race to top the charts, seal the honmoon and reach gold. the fans were the most important thing to her. here, however, very far from both the home she grew up in and the one she'd found true family in, she could actually relax. she clung to a hefty bag of snacks and continued to dance down the street chanting when she spotted another.

"care to join? i have more snacks than i'll ever need. you in?"

zoey is sprawled on the floor, definitely in the way. her toes are tapping. a mess of notebooks and torn out pages are strewn all about her. most people have stepped around her and anyone else who passes by probably should, too. it's still not stopping her. once she thinks she's found some semblance of flow, she'll stop at nothing to stay in it.

"which sounds better?" she doesn't even look up as she taps a pencil to her chin. "you're like a monster in disguise with fire in your eyes, everyone knows you'll be the one left with a surprise. or....you're like a monster in disguise, everyone dropping like flies, how can no one see through your lies?"

zoey beamed as she spun around with a big pink bubble blower wand. even the flick of her wrist as she raised it to her lips brought small bubbles soaring through the air. then, she brought it near her mouth and blew a string of bubbles around.

"isn't this so fun?" she giggled and offered to hand it to the other. "you want to try? oh, wait it's not like..." she lowered her voice and leaned in, "illegal to do this indoors here or something, is it?"

at 5'2, ruby was about to be absolutely no help at all. still, given that she was of the belief she'd lived in washington dc since she was a little kid, she sort of felt obligated to at least try and help random strangers in grocery stores, given how many people seemed to have popped up in the city lately. that fact, of course, was a bit weird, but she was choosing not to think too much about it. "maybe they're trying to orchestrate some sort of meet cute, thinking you'll ask somebody tall for help and fall in love in the middle of the canned goods," she shrugged. "d'you need a hand? not that i'm much taller but...teamwork?"

this was probably wildly comical to any onlookers. the other was hardly any taller than her. however, ever the ball of energy. zoey was all the more determined to get this stupid can of spicy fermented goods off the shelf and into her hands. she jumped more and more, grunting as if it might give her lift off. when it didn't, she pouted and then turned to the other with a goofy giggle.

"you think? that's hilarious. you're hilarious." another goofy giggle. "teamwork makes the dream work, right?"

"no, no, no, i got it," she lied.

zoey at exactly five feet tall did not "got it". in fact, she was using a bunched up scarf to try to knock down a particularly good-looking snack box down from a shelf in the grocery store. she even bounced up and down to try to make it easier. instead, she somehow managed to push it farther from her.

"noooo." she pouted. "why does this store always put the spicy foods up on the higher shelves? this has to be a personal attack." she crossed her arms over her chest and sighed dramatically.

Opening  an  antique  shop  hadn't  exactly  been  at  the  top  of  Sethan's  list  after  arriving  in  Washington,  but  once  it  became  obvious  that  leaving  wasn't  an  option?  He  figured  he  might  as  well  make  himself  comfortable  and  attempt  to  roll  with  the  punches.  Besides,  having  a  place  that  he  spends  the  majority  of  the  time  in  secretly  have  sigils  left  and  right  that  look  like  decoration  but  offer  protection?  Definitely  more  comforting  for  him  than  the  shitty  apartment  he's  been  staying  in.  Besides,  the  shop  gave  him  somewhere  to  keep  the  rather  extensive  collection  he'd  inherited  from  his  family.  And  somewhere  to  conduct  the  less-than-legal  supernatural  business  he'd  picked  up  over  the  years.  To  most  people,  it  was  simply  a  charming  little  antique  shop  filled  with  old  books,  jewelry,  artwork,  and  various  curiosities.  To  those  who  knew  what  they  were  looking  for?  Well...  Sethan's  inventory  became  considerably  more  interesting.

"No.  Absolutely  not.  You're  staying  in  there  until  I  can  find  someone  to  snatch  you  out  of  my  hands."  Sethan  glared  at  the  small  wooden  box  sitting  on  the  counter  as  something  scratched  from  inside  it.  "I  swear  to  God,  if  you  do  that  one  more…"  THUMP.  The  box  jumped,  earning  an  irritated  sigh  before  the  bell  above  the  front  door  chimed.  Sethan  glanced  toward  the  newcomer,  then  casually  grabbed  a  heavy  book  and  dropped  it  on  top  of  the  box.  "Welcome."  Another  muffled  thump  came  from  beneath  the  book,  although  definitely  not  as  noticeable  thankfully.  So  hopefully  this  person  missed  it.  "So...  looking  for  anything  in  particular?"

zoey wasn't exactly sure what she was looking for. she just needed to get out of her home and out of her head. ever since coming here, lyrics just weren't flowing like they used to. they felt stilted, pointless. did the honmoon even matter here? she sighed wandered the streets for something enticing when she found herself drawn to this antique shop.

"oh," she almost squeaked. she shouldn't have been so startled. she was the one that had entered this space, but another's voice finally brought her out of her own head. "um, not really? i just thought it looked interesting, cute, quaint, fun(?)." oh god she was rambling and neither mira nor rumi were here to stop it. "the energy is really interesting here. and, this may sound crazy, but you don't happen to have anything that might help with writer's block, do you?"

zoey has all her memories from canon, so i'm willing to explore everything through the movie's end and on.

zoey is also a demon hunter. she probably won't be doing much with that here, but it means she's very skilled in martial arts and combat. i'll never godmod or push anyone's muse into something without asking. it's just something that can be explored if you'd like. more than likely, she'll yap at a muse than fight them.
