Chik-fil-le sandwich

INGREDIENTS:

4 hamburger buns, split

1 head green leaf lettuce, leaves separated

1 beefsteak tomato, sliced

20 dill pickle slices

FOR THE CHICKEN

2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 cup dill pickle juice

1 ½ cups milk, divided

1 cup peanut oil

1 large egg

½ cup all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon confectioners’ sugar

Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

DIRECTIONS:

Place a chicken breast on a cutting board. With your hand flat on top of it, carefully slice the chicken in half horizontally. Trim excess fat as needed.

In a large shallow baking dish, combine chicken, pickle juice and ½ cup milk; marinate for at least 30 minutes. Drain well.

Heat peanut oil in a large skillet over medium high heat.

In another large shallow baking dish, whisk together remaining 1 cup milk and egg. Stir in chicken to coat and drain excess milk mixture.

In a gallon size Ziploc bag or large bowl, combine chicken, flour and confectioners’ sugar; season with salt and pepper, to taste.

Working in batches, add chicken to the skillet and cook until evenly golden and crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.

Serve chicken immediately on burger buns with green leaf lettuce, tomato and pickles.

every time i see this post i do feel the need to point out that the chick fil a branch mentioned, the one in reading, uk. it got so much protest that a week after opening it was announced it would not have it’s lease extended beyond the pilot period. it opened october 2019 and closed march 2020.

As someone who once worked at the restaurant of God's chicken, i can tell you that the frozen lemonade is just lemonade and vanilla ice cream mixed together, the chicken can be achieved at home, as can the lemonade and the sauces, the fries can be found at most bull food stores like Costco or Sam's, and the people that you may go for are fake as hell.

Decently tasting food is not worth supporting a company this fucked up. (Be real, it's only decent tasting at best. It's not the best chicken you've ever had. Not even close.)

Anybody else hating the app update on mobile? What is the purpose of the home button aside from simply moving from say notifications to your feed? Because it doesn't work like it used to. Why do i have to scroll all the way back up to refresh my feed? I don't necessarily want to see every single post from today by that one person i follow, so why am I seeing like 80 posts from one user on the following tab? I feel like Tumblr just keeps breaking their own app more and more in the name of "fixing" it.

And the OTW is not going to remove fics because someone sent a letter that says “actually those characters belong to me and you can’t use them that way.” The OTW was created to FIGHT that kind of claim. They are ready.
