im looking to replace my old ikea plates (shiny pale turquoise opaque glass, pretty deep but with these sloped sides that your food just wants to slide out on) with sth more deliberately chosen. my taste in tableware is i guess very of-the-moment, i like the wabi-sabi-esque ceramic glazes w organic color runs and speckles in warm grey, earth tones and blue, and also smooth round milky white porcelain and thick faceted glassware. also i want no matching sets. so the 2 shiny glass plates (plus one small bowl) bother me every time i look at them. ive been going to discount stores and have found some stuff but nothing to fully replace the dinner plates.

so for a couple months now i have been staring at these plates

the color and shape are perfect, i specifically want the deep vertical rim. however they are a set of 2 and expensive (like 70 euro). if it were a single plate even at higher cost-per-unit i would get it. if it were a set of 4+ i would put them out of my mind forever. as is, ive been agonizing. i considered getting a set of 2 much cheaper dessert plates/saucers from this series just for the color.

anyway, yesterday a broke a mug while washing dishes and just realized that they do sell single mugs >:3 tremendous win for me
