A time they kissed

“On the top shelf?” she asks looking over her shoulder at himtyping away at his computer.

She’s only been to his house a handful of times andhas yet to remember where everything is. He nods in confirmation and she getsup from where she is sitting to head into the kitchen. Hazel hues trail upwardsto the shelf above the counter. It’s so high.Determined to get his bag of Honey Buddha Chips she places on hand firmly onthe edge of the counter and carefully steps on the stool, a feeling of uneaserippling through her as it wobbles slightly underfoot. It was such an oldstool, she wonders why he hasn’t replaced it. The wooden legs are warped andworn, making one leg slightly shorter than the rest. Perhaps he doesn’t find as much use for it asshe does when she comes over--being quite diminutive in stature she findsherself relying on it more often than not. It sways, wobbling on three legs asshe shifts her weight to lengthen herself upwards, extending herself onto hertoes in search of the bag of chips. Hyori wiggles her fingertips at the lip of theshelf, blindly probing overhead for the bag. “Saeyoung…” She calls out, “I don’t think it’s—“

Her fingers grazeupon the matte material of the bag, giddy anticipation flutters in her chest. “Oh… never mind I got it!” she adds reaching just a bit higher onto her toes to grabthe bag from its hiding place.

However in that moment the stool’s leg decidesto snap beneath her feet. As she felt it begin to give she reflexively calls for him. “Saeyoung!”

He appears besideher almost instantly—he was likely already on his way when she called for himthe first time—but gravity continues to pull her downward, crashing into himas her arms wrap tightly around his neck. Landing in a soft thud. For a moment Hyori is thankful she didn’t fallface first onto the floor, until realization that she is on top of him slipsunder her skin. When she turns to face him to apologize she finds that he hadalso turned to face her in the same instant, their lips colliding pressing firmly againstone another.

Hazel hues widen, capturing golden for a beat and she blinks once,twice, three times before she comes to her senses and scrambles off of him. Her face is sohot she might as well be dipped in rouge and she casts her gaze away from him.Grabbing the bag of Honey Buddha Chips she hands it to him still too embarrassedto make eye contact. “H-here… your chips.”
