Hi everyone, it’s me. I’m really sorry to say this, but: I’m gonna be going on an indefinite hiatus. Both the inbox and submission box will be closed until further notice. Also: Please don’t use Fan Mail for Gem asks.

You’re probably wondering why I’m doing this, but it’s not because of one simple thing. As you can tell from other announcement posts I’ve made in the past, I’ve been really distracted with personal life things, so I haven’t really had the time to do anything here.

Not to mention that, especially within the past few months, I’ve barely had any motivation to well... basically almost anything. I’ve had very little spoons to do much because I’ve been going through a depressive episode from stressful life events and anxieties. Because of this, I’ve also barely had any motivation to work on this blog.

So again, I’m really sorry about this. I’m hoping that maybe some time in the future, I can find the time and motivation to run this blog again.

ah i’m really sorry i haven’t really been on much at all... again. like i mentioned before, i’ve been super-busy w/ personal life stuff so i’ve barely had time to get this blog running. 

i mostly post in queues now, and there’s some days i won’t be on here at all. i think this might end up being a permanent thing, which is why i put it in my description that i mostly run on a queue now. 

however: i promise that i’ll try to go on here as much as i can to answer your asks and stuff!

here’s a small ref sheet for my Poppy Jasper, it took me forever to settle on a design I was happy with

her name is Bea but her gf calls her “Bean” as a pet name sometimes. Her gem “weapon” is full body armor minus the helmet… i haven’t gotten around to drawing that yet haha

She seemed to be a perfect quartz, but ultimately failed to meet all of her diamond’s expectations, and was abandoned on an uninhabited planet.

Any suggestions for red gems with high ranks? Perhaps with the role of a general? Thank you!

Hmm… I’m not exactly sure what red Gems would generally fit a high rank, but as for a general specifically, maybe a Red Agate of sorts would fit? (like Crackled Fire Agate or Crazy Lace Agate?)

Agates “terrify” their subordinates into submission, so perhaps this Agate can be a general to an army of Quartzes?

I want to make a type of red Jasper or agate, but I don't know specifically what kind? Would it be possible for you to name off a few of each, or post a link? Thank you in advance!

You could look into the “Agates” and “Jaspers” sections of the list for it, and each gemstone listed also mentions the color(s) of the gem!

What would you suppose a good weapon would be for a Jet stone who's gem is placed on the back of her neck? Her role to be that of a permenant protector to a singular gem (who I have yet to create), and I don't know if her weapon should be based on that role or the properties of a jet. I was maybe considering giving her powers connected to dreams and telepathy, but I feel like that's too OP?

Hmm… I know I tend to bring up this weapon a lot, but usually when I think of a “protector/guard” type of Gem, usually I like to think a spear or a javelin would fit them? I dunno, I think it just fits with their “protector/guard” job,

As for the dream/telepathy powers, I guess it’d depend on how strong her powers are? Maybe if they had some limitations they wouldn’t be too OP.

Perhaps if dream/telepathy powers sound too OP to you, you could choose a possible alternative: Pyrokinesis! Jet is a type of lignite that is a precursor to coal.

What gem would be able to communicate with others via electricity and be also able to somewhat read their minds? What gem would have the ability to calm everyone around them down? Thanks!

Perhaps Lightning Opal could fit! Electricity powers would fit since “lightning” is in its name (as well as the inside of the gem resembling electricity), and opals are associated with telepathy and intuition.

A Gem who could have this ability can be Lepidolite! Metaphysically, it is a calming stone that helps soothes one’s nerves.

Since your Diamondsona is a dark pink color, a dark pink Pearl would fit to match her! I think the best-fitting color for her would be either Cranberry or Fuchsia!

this might sound a little ridiculous, but - what do you think would be a good weapon and job for a pabstite that's basically got the personality of a frat bro? not the smartest, egotistic, mostly unempathetic, but brave and fiercely loyal. i was thinking she'd be the only one of her facet group that turned out well because of how rare the gem is.

Hmmm… perhaps something like a gauntlet or a knife might fit? I feel like a weapon like that might fit their personality.

Hey, what would a radioactive gem's abilities be? Would they be able to corrupt gems? Also, how would Honeworld view them? Thanks for answering! This isn't about any specific gem, just radioactive ones.

Maybe they could, depending on their strength of radioactivity! There’s many gems that contain radioactive elements, but some gems with very strong radioactivity include Coffinite, Soddyite, and Vandenbrandeite!

As for how Homeworld would view them, maybe they’d consider them to be highly dangerous if we were to go down the “corruption power” route? Maybe only very few of these Gems exist, and maybe those who can’t control these powers are banished or shattered because of how dangerous it is?

I really like @zulies-doodles‘ design on her Emerald, and I thought that she’d have an interesting fusion with my Prehnite, so I sketched a bit and designed Jade! I can imagine her to be very strategic, and quiet. I think Emerald and Prehnite have a lot of things in common, and I can imagine them to be quite good at combat, hence the extra arms, and feet(???)
