From the time I discovered Prydain through Disney's The Black Caudron, the golden bauble (which is named Pelyndryn) is always one of the most fascinating things of Prydain. Contrary to Disney's portrayal, it never floats on its own, though I didn't mind the difference. As long as its light penetrates through the pages of the whole Chronicles of Prydain, it brings its world to life into our minds that we will always remember. The Princess Eilonwy of Llyr and her bauble Pelyndryn belong to the late Lloyd Alexander.
