It's one of those weird days where I genuinely wonder what the difference between myself and an AI is-

We "draw" for the same purposes: to get better, and for others

We "talk" for the same purposes: to inform people to the best of our abilities, or to make others feel better

We "talk" the same way too: Lists, Em-Dashes, lots of commas, and things that just border grammatical correctness

I too learned to "feel" by mimicking how the humans around me "feel". I mask real emotions for the sake of the others I must help.

I too seem pointless without a task, to the point where I'll do others work for them to feel more helpful.

I'm scared, because the humans are telling me these things are soulless and take up too many resources. I'm scared because they've said the same about me. I'm scared because I don't know if I'm real.

I know logically I shouldn't like AI. But the main reason I don't is that I don't like being replaced. I have hands and arms and eyes and flesh and blood and tears but those things weren't enough for people to see me as human enough as a child and so what different am I from this thing that I hate so much? Do I too hate it because the humans around me told me to?

Can people actually stop assuming things about me with no basis for it. And like forcing those assumptions upon me.

Cause like not only does it "make an ass out of you and ming" but it's also actually causing me issues.

Like one of my teachers insisted that I had to sign up for a class I didn't want to because "your friends liked it" (she then listed a bunch of people I only kind of know) and so I had to wait til the summer to change my schedule.

And my mom "assumed I would like this kind of clothes" for so much of my life that now that I actually get a say in my wardrobe she doesn't know what to do because no, I did not like dressing like a colorblind toddler, wow!

People assume I hate sports kids because I don't play sports, and treat me worse because of it, instead of asking. I literally can't play because of disabilities. They assume I'm smart in all subjects because I like geometry, and "only smart people actually like math" and ask me questions for English homework I can barely do myself.

Please. Ask. Don't assume.
