We are not born enemies.
We are taught hatred, supremacy, and difference —
through religion, culture, and patriotism.

Borders are drawn.
Flags are waved.
Gods are claimed.
And meanwhile, the suffering is universal.

This poem is not a call to erase identity, 
But, it is a cry to transcend division.

To see beyond the labels we inherited.
To see beyond religion, culture, nationalism, and pride.


And to remember:

“We are the same kind.”

If one can reason, one will understand
that we are all interconnected,
no matter our language, our land, or our lineage.

If one suffers,
it is only a matter of time before we all suffer.

So let us begin by grieving together.
