It's not that difficult to not make Bruce a horrible and racist father without mischaracterization. It's not that difficult to respect Brutalia and still tell "it didn't function". Its not difficult to write about Talia and Damian without making it racist.

i know this is my dc blog because i don’t actively read marvel anymore yadda yadda whatever this came up for me i cannot honestly believe that the psylocke situation was a real thing published for a quarter of a decade and only addressed in 2018 and even still the mass reaction to it was “hey that was weird lol” and not recognition that it was the most disgusting horrific vile racist scenario imaginable. they did Get Out years before that movie existed. that white british woman wore an asian woman’s skin to become a sexy ninja hottie for 25 years. they didn’t even give kwannon a real name. you can’t even say kwannon in japanese. i actually get sick to my stomach thinking about this

and the reaction i think is the worst part because everyone wants to pay lip service towards acknowledging how nauseatingly offensive that was without actually caring just immediately jumping toward rehabilitating betsy reputation (not that it needed it because clear you people love the white woman who literally goes by Captain Britain these days) like its somehow even more offensive.

“b-b-but yeah it was Problematic that betsy got more confident when she wore an asian womans body like a costume and became a fetishized sexualized object but i actually see it as a nonbinary queer allegory about body dysmorphia” if i verbalized my honest reaction here i would be struck down by terms of service.
