The waves swayed calmly. His eyes were teary, but he could see the woman before him. She smiled as the wind pushed her hair into her face. She lent him her hand. He wanted to take it, but the water hit his eyes so suddenly...
Alexander woke up with a sharp pain to his chest. He sat up and breathed heavily. The pain made him confused, but he could still see the room he was in. He didn't recognize it. It appeared he was in bed, and looking down he saw patches on various places all over his body. In the corner of the room laid his armor, sword and helmet. The sword appeared to be covered in blood.
He breathed heavily. This wasn't his home. Was he back in Sparta?
Suddenly, he heard the door creak. A blonde haired head peaked through it. The person seemed to notice he was awake and immediately entered the room.
- If I were you, I wouldn't sit up yet.- The man said. He looked much more well-kept than the soldier- his skin was clean and his hair were nicely brushed and pulled into a small ponytail. His blue eyes analyzed Alexander.
- Who on Earth are you?- The man spat out. Only now he noticed how sore his throat is.
- Who are you?- The soldier continued, not breaking eye contact for even a moment.
- My name's Kassias, I saved you from being eaten by forest creatures, you're welcome!- The man said, slowly walking up to the bed.
- Where are we?- Alexander asked, looking at his lap. The bandages on him were clearly new.
- Attica.- Kassias replied.
- But that's...where are my troops?- The man was starting to be angry. The confusion overwhelmed him.
- My troops! We were coming back from battle! WHERE ARE MY MEN?- He yelled out. His lungs hurt but he didn't care.
Alexander was confused and hurt. Just a moment ago he was marching back to his house, now he is far away from home, in a stranger's bed, feeling naked without his armor and weapon.
- Hey, calm down...I don't know what you're talking about. I found you in the forest, bleeding out from several wounds, so I took you home and patched you up. I brought everything with me, other than your shield. It had a symbol of a different polis, so the politics took it...but don't worry! My father works there, we can get it back sometime soon. You just gotta heal first.- Kassias explained calmly. He put his hand on the man's, and Alexander let him, even though he was still confused.
For a while there was no response.
- My name's Alexander. I was born in Sparta.- The black haired man muttered out.
- Nice to meet you. Alright, I will leave you alone now. Please rest, and don't try to stand up, you'll hurt yourself further.- With a smile, the man stood up. He slowly walked to the door, then looked back at Alexander.- Shout if you need anything.
With that, Kassias left the room. The soldier took a few breaths, but then collapsed back onto the bed. With a sigh, he closed his eyes again, feeling every single part of his body ache.
