If I catch it in early onset, a bottle of coke (ideally as cold as you can possibly get it) buys me a few extra minutes to take my meds and find a place to lie down! I know that for some folks caffeine is a trigger but I frequently find myself really craving it just before the aura starts to creep in, and apparently for a lot of migraine sufferers there are similar cravings - it may not be that fat/sugar/caffeine is the trigger but rather an early warning sign from your body that we're gonna need to stock up on quick easy cheap energy, bc its about to be a doozy. Ymmv, but if you do frequently find that cravings for those sorts of things coincide with migraines, it may be worth leaning into those cravings - I learned chocolate doesn't help, but the combination of caffeine + hydration + cold does help alleviate my early symptoms a bit
I also will never stop singing the praises of something along these lines (apologies for amazon link but it'll at least give you an idea of what I'm describing). It's sort of wetsuity neopreney material, goes all the way over your head including covering both ears and both eyes, and it's filled with a cooling gel which stays cool at room temp but especially shines if you just whack it in the fridge for a bit. The combination of blackout vision, muffled hearing, pressure, and cooling is absolutely Heavenly for any headache and genuinely game changing for migraines. My pal lent me theirs, I immediately bought one, then got another for my birthday, so I can keep one in the fridge and one by my bed and just rotate em. Helps with the sensory overstimulation and the pain and, as a lifelong insomniac, can be a real pinch hitter for getting me to sleep even without the migraine factor. Truly everyone should try one at least once
