My second crack at references for the main gang in @branules & I's irl aeriseph au. Wasn't happy with the old ones + I made them before we actually started writing our fic so I decided it was time to revamp them now that we've gotten a solid chunk of the fic done. Up next will be designing a cover for the au/fic, so stay tuned.

Note that this au diverges from canon pretty heavily for story purposes and our characterizations of these guys is fairly different than it would be in the canon setting because instead of Midgar they live in Chicago. But is that really so different after all

i know Loki fans are sick and tired of hearing about Loki having horse sex but i do think it's a very interesting that Loki choose to do *that*. When tasked with getting rid of Svaðilfari on threat of death, instead of simply turning in a wasp and stinging him into running away - or maybe turning into a bear or something else that will clearly kill the horse - Loki choose to turn into a mare. Loki turned into a mare, lead Svaðilfari away, and instead of having a trap set up or simply disappearing when far enough away from the horse's master Loki had hot steamy horse sex. I think it's important to remember this when writting a Loki and there's a Sleipnir around.

Yes, this was a honeytrap, but it took a terrible turn... as most of Loki's plans did.

No, it was not his choice to mate with that stallion, just like getting his lips sown was not part of his plan, or getting blackmailed by Thjazi, or having his older kids trapped/exiled and his youngest kids murdererd or get a snake dropping poison into his eyes...

Awful things happen to Loki as consequences to his actions, and Svadilfari was one of them.

I think the most painful proof of this is how Sleipnir was given away to Odin while Loki kept a much better relationship with his other kids. I'm sure he loved Sleipnir, but the memory of his conception was also way too terrible...

The retelling of this story with the "Oh he loved horse!sex" is purely from the Aesir POV, but once you actually start thinking about it, you realize how very anti-LGBTQ this whole narrative is...

Trying to sell us this version because what? Loki was queer so he'd love horse!sex? This is so insulting....

Everytime I see a drawing of Loki and Sleipnir I always felt a certain ick. Sleipnir is definetly not at fault at this.

Much like any children that resulted in rape, but some really just think it's funny and for me it always felt off.

Weirdly enough thinking about it now, this story was my first ever interaction I had with Loki. As a child mind you. Sleipnir was written in a little story section of a "how to draw horses" book that I owned (idk where it is now but I vividly remember it). Next to the unicorn and pegasus, which also thinking about it has also a weird origin story.

Glad my innocent mind didn't think too much about it back then.

I mean if you get value out of reading it as a rape story good for you, genuinely. There is nothing wrong with that. But there is also a subset people out there who enjoy the fantasy of getting fucked by a horse! Just look it up on rule 34 you'll find it easy.

And to the point I had made in the original post, if Loki didn't want to deal with maybe getting fucked by a horse WHY DID HE BECOME A MARE and WHY DIDN'T HE SIMPLY TURN INTO A WASP WHEN HE GOT CAUGHT. When Loki got their moth sewn shut and far later when she got bound with her child's entrails it made sense, she was facing humans with keen human minds that can track her and swat him or capture him in a jar. But a horse? A horse can't do that. I posit that Loki could have gotten away, but didn't because she's just freaky like that.

Also I'm going to tell you straight up I don't think any of this is real and that's why Loki's stint of bestiality (if it even counts as that) doesn't matter to me. In fact I think it makes Loki a more interesting character! There's nothing wrong with liking sex and if both parties are consenting go have fun with that horse *as* a horse!

hey so this is a story. so we can interpret it in any way. it can both be true that it was rape and/or it can be true that loki *could have* turned into an eagle and flew away if things got too crazy or a bear and clawed the fuck out of Svaðilfari. But that *didn't* happen so maybe loki's into getting fucked by a horse, i mean other ppl are i've seen the porn. but like i said, it's a story. so it could be rape if you want it that way or it could not be. it honestly doesn't matter that much.

i will say you do have a point about sleipnir being given to odin. But again we can interpret things in any number of ways, like for instance, maybe loki gave Sleipnir away bc she saw how her other kids we're being treated and tried to snip that in the bud for sleipnir by giving him to odin to be pampered as a prized war horse when not off in battle. again, who knows.
