Gimme Some Truth {Raina}
drdaina:
Despite her anxious mood, the blonde couldn’t help but smile at her wife’s playfulness, appreciating the small distraction. She nodded, agreeing about the staff. “I’m really glad they’re willing to move with us”, she said quietly, picking at the fabric of her pants. When the talk shifts to the babies’ room, Daina swallows, mentally reminding herself that she needs to tell Riley. Her mind wanders and she chastises herself for still not thinking of the perfect way. Honestly, the blonde was surprised with herself for lasting for so long. She was never a very good liar. She finally answered (a little too loud) when she realized she’d been sitting quiet for longer than expected.  “Well…maybe it’s a good idea. With babies and pregnancy, you never know what might come up that would make us regret not starting earlier”. She glanced at Riley, not quite meeting her eyes.  “I mean, I have no problem with being done sooner rather than later, do you?”
If she previously only had a suspicion that Daina was acting odd, watching her fumble with her hands was enough to convince Riley she was right. Slightly annoyed, she felt like now there was something her wife was down right not saying. “What do you mean--what might come up, what does that have to do with the room?” her tone was laced with confusion, though in the back of her mind, she began to question if everything was okay with the baby, but as usual, Riley didn’t feel prepared to ask the right question. If she was being honest, she still wanted to avoid as much baby talk as she possibly could, for fear of revealing her lack of connection to it and hurting Daina. “I suppose, I understand that. Personally, I’d rather focus on one thing at the time--" she sighed, trying not to sound dismissive of Daina’s idea, though she couldn’t see why it’d be a better idea than what she had in mind already, “which is, being done with our old stuff first” she added, furrowing her eyebrows as she glanced at her wife. It’s not like they didn’t have the money to get all the necessities for the baby in record time once they were ready.

drdaina:
Daina was lost in thought, looking around she and Riley’s new apartment with a knot in her stomach. She couldn’t fathom that soon there would be two babies there with them, and even worse, she couldn’t believe she hadn’t told Riley yet. Everyday, she seemed to find a new excuse as to why she shouldn’t say it, but at this point, not telling was becoming less of a courtesy and more deceitful. Still, the thought of breaking Riley’s heart more made her own ache. She smiled softly at the brunette’s words, though it didn’t quite reach her eyes. “What, you’re saying that if I hated it, you wouldn’t buy me another one?” She joked, wagging her eyebrows at her wife.  “I love it, Babe. Even more than I hate moving. It’ll be the perfect size for…all of us, you know?”. She blinked awkwardly, sitting down next to her wife and leaning against her a bit. She had been trying to drop subtle hints lately, but to no avail. At this point, she couldn’t even think of a way to bring it up.  “Didn’t realize it takes so long”, she muttered, staring ahead. “But then again, I’ve never had this much stuff”. She swallowed, sitting up and pulling her legs on the couch with her.  “When do you think you uh… want to start decorating the babies’ room?”
In silence, Riley observed her wife, wondering what was going through her mind. It felt as if she was refraining from saying something. Maybe she was regretting their decision, and this townhouse wasn’t what she expected. Soon enough Daina’s words seemed to put that thought to rest, though Riley still felt like there was something else. “Very funny” a smile reached her lips and she rolled her eyes, because Daina was quickly realizing the power she had over her. “Those hormones are making you cocky, I’m into it” she teased instead, letting the blonde lean against her. “It’s more than perfect size. Not just for us, the staff too" Riley glanced down. Deciding who got to move with them and who had to go had been a hard process now that the space had reduced. But at least the ones who were let go had found a place working with Riley’s father. “I’m content knowing most of them will stay with us” she let out a sigh, offering a small smile. “Even if we didn’t have all of this, it’d still be a long process. You better hope we don’t end up moving for many years”. Riley wasn’t expecting Daina to bring up their baby, and as a result, her body stiffened. Trying not to look so visibly uncomfortable, she distanced herself, inhaling sharply before facing Daina. “I don’t--know, is that... something you’d rather be done with soon? I hadn’t thought about it yet.”
Gimme Some Truth {Raina}
Riley had to keep reminding herself that she and Daina had decided to move out of their mansion for a good reason. She had forgotten just how much of a chore it was when she first came to her mansion. Now that she paced around the mostly empty master suite of their new townhouse, she sighed tiredly, trying to keep all her annoyance to herself. Turning around ,she spotted Daina, who seemed unusually quiet. She frowned, wondering if there was more than just the stress of moving going on with her wife. “I really hope you’re 100% satisfied with this place, because I really don’t plan on going through all of this again in the next couple of years” she let out a chuckle, a lopsided smile reaching her lips walking around a few boxes before settling in the only couch they had at the moment. “They said it’ll be at least another month until everything is moved out” she continued, feeling odd now that she seemed to be the one carrying a conversation. It was rarely how things worked between them.

Riley 💬 Daina
Daina: It's definitely interesting and fun to hear your take on things though. I'm not sure I'd ever get tired of talking about pregnancy.
Daina: I give them away all the time, who says I can't give them away after you're done reading them?
Daina: Don't want that :**. I'll refrain from saying it.
Daina: Okay, good response, Babe. You should have seen her when I told her, she's thrilled. But I'm worried it'll get mom level naggy real quick.
Daina: lol! probably not!! Not much scares her, and she adores you, even when you're being annoying. Any messages from my dad?
Riley: My take is that pregnancy sucks, and I don't understand why any woman would go through it, not sure if that's fun. I guess that makes sense. Otherwise you wouldn't have studied for it.
Riley: I don't know. It still seems pointless, I can buy my own. Don't worry about it. You'll just have to recommend me some.
Riley: Thank you.
Riley: How dare you, I'm never annoying. We'll try to keep her in check. No, not yet. Should I be expecting some? will he want to teach me latvian recipes for his grandchild?
Riley: By the way, I wanted to remind you that the moving first truck will be coming early saturday morning, so I hope you've finished sorting out your most important items.
Riley 💬 Daina
Daina: I bet you'd find something about it in one of the books on your list! I'm actually surprised you haven't already.
Daina: Which- by the way- let me know when you're close to being done. Someone just donated a ton of pregnancy books to the hospital, and I'm running out of room in my office.
Daina: It means a lot, Riles. And... for what it's worth, you will too.
Daina: Oh my gosh, stop, did she? That's so embarassing, what did she say to you???
Daina: It was definitely the same...don't answer her phone calls because she's going to offer you so much unsolicited advice. Ask Melissa- it was a lot.
Riley: I imagine there is. I've mostly been reading the chapters about what happens during pregnancy. I'm sure you're tired of me commenting on stuff you already know.
Riley: I'll let you know, isn't that... wrong? I can buy my own books. Maybe you should give one to every patient you have.
Riley: If you say so. I'm not going to comment on that, because it'll get us into a fight.
Riley: First, she said she was sad that I couldn't meet with them on sunday, and then offered to share pregnancy stories, she figured you might go through similar issues? I politely decline until further notice.
Riley: She hasn't messaged me since then. Maybe I scared her.
izzybmore:
Um, none of those sound appealing. And not to mention…mandated bed rest! Could anything ever sound more boring? I can’t decide if I want dibs on your tennis court and indoor pool when you’re in prison, or if I should help you kill the men…
Right, I imagine mandated bed rest would be the worst thing for you. No, I don’t think anything could sound as boring as that. I would never survive it, I have to be busy. Since you’ve been calling yourself my friend for so long now, the least you could do was to help out killing the men, no?Â
christian-sage:
Oh of course we do, we’re just treating it as another sign that it’s time to look for a new place. This apartment was mine before we got married, something that the both of us can find is a better fit though.
Oh, right. Your wife mentioned you two were starting to search for a new place. If you’re one of those people who believe in signs, then you should go ahead and trust this one. I’m in the process of moving myself, doing it before the real hot weather is here seems like a smart decision. Â
willthebaker:
For the first time in my life, I am happy to do so. There are some things you aren’t meant to know
Well if they can make special accommodations for Martha Stewart and OJ Simpson, I’m sure making them for you would be no problem. Especially given the good deed you’d be doing for the fate of women everywhere. I think quite a few people would raise money to get you set free. Or at the very least help stage a prison riot.Â
Right? I’m technically taking one for the team, could see an uproar coming from woman who support me, both inside and outside the prison. Not exactly the kind of reputation I wanted to build for myself, but I’ll take it. On a more serious note though, I have a newfound respect for every woman who willingly put herself through all of this before the law even existed. If you ever get your letter, please make sure to treat her the best you can.Â
ari0estrada:
That… That sounds horrible… Just… No. Do you mean uterus stretching like… babies or? Either way, that sounds terrible.
It doesn’t sound like something a human being should go through, for the sake of keeping the country’s population alive. Exactly that, the uterus stretching as a result of the baby growing. I shouldn’t be the one complaining, considering I’m not the one getting pregnant. But still, frustrating. Please feel free to distract me from reading any more of these things.
Riley 💬 Daina
Daina: Not quite, lol, though this has to count for something, doesn't it?
Daina: Soo, in our bedroom, then? :p
Daina: Hey, yesterday was really nice. Thanks for everything.
Riley: I'm counting it. Maybe I should read on it.
Riley: [eyeroll emoji]
Riley: Of course. It's the least I can do. I know I said it yesterday, but I'm sure you'll be a good mom.
Riley: Speaking of moms, yours sent me a text earlier today. I know she's excited but she's not...going to do that everyday right? Was it the same with your brother?
christian-sage:
When the air conditioner craps out, maybe it’s another sign that it’s time to think about moving. Oh well, I guess it’s going to be a night of ice cream, cold pizza and boxer shorts. I hope @merritt-sage doesn’t mind too much. What a glamorous life.
You have the money to repair it, no?
trixie-windsor:
So, I’m officially launching my personal shopping business on Friday, so if anyone is interested please let me know so that I can set you up for an appointment. Prices differ based on how long it is and if you want me to what not to wear your closet beforehand.Â
Congratulations on your new business. I don’t need one myself, but I’ll keep you in mind if I ever have to suggest one. Are you located in any particular department or office?
priscillafranks:
Okay, so if I understand it right, it didn’t go well at first but then after a year of marriage, you got closer and you’re happy now, or am I wrong?
That would be correct, yes. Though I’m not sure to what extent it counts as happiness. It’s mostly just acceptance over the whole situation. I still have to raise a child I never wanted.
