I bet raising your arm and summoning a weapon for you to grasp feels good as fuck
in case folk outside the UK aren't abreast of our news, the British press just hounded a black academic to death
a rough timeline of events (from memory, there may be inaccuracies, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong)
Cambridge professor of sociology Jason Arday is accused of plagiarism by another academic
the accuser is a "race realist" who believes that in a true meritocracy all university professors would be white. this is somehow not acknowledged much during the entire ordeal
this leads to several days of media coverage demanding an investigation, or that Arday is expelled from his post immediately
somehow this accusation that has no effect on the lives of 99.99% of the population becomes FRONT PAGE NEWS in all the newspapers for multiple days, above anything else happening in the UK or the world at large
following intense media scrutiny, Arday resigns his post as a Cambridge professor
today, august 14th, days after resigning, Arday is found dead at his home in Battersea
the British tabloid press remains, and will always be, fucking evil
reminding myself the primary law of zinemaking: does not have to be profound
secondary law of zinemaking: does have to be gay

priest kink but midway through sex you find out he's one of those liberal protestant priests so it's like not even a big deal for him. and he just wanted to fuck you for normal reasons
and it didn't even symbolise anything when he sighed and unbuttoned the top button of his shirt and put his clerical collar on the dresser by the side of the bed. his neck was just feeling a bit tight
long distance (and reunion)
you can make him transparent, if you want to

thought too hard about MRI machines today and had this come to me in a vision
mri accident is literally one of my biggest anxiety freakouts. i dont care about being in the tiny loud tube, im so scared of a secret piece of metal i dont know about in my body will tear through me like a knife through butter. what if i ate a quarter in my sleep
Quarters George who eats a $10 roll of quarters every night is shredded into a fine mist my the MRI
TIME TO POST ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE IMAGES!!!!
Back when I worked at the hospital, I had to take MRI training and it was my favorite thing every time. It was only like 10 minutes long and went a little something like this:
Hey. The MRI is basically a really big magnet and by basically I mean it is and we literally never turn it off. It's like really big. Really really big and powerful and The Magnet is always on. We don't turn it off Ever, for any reason. We mean it bro, The Magnet is literally always on. It's crazy strong and will definitely kill you. So don't bring any metal into the MRI room, man. You will fuck up the machine (because The Magnet is always on) and then you will die (again, because The Magnet is always on). Here's some fun questions for you to test your understanding!
1) The ______ is always on.
2) The Magnet is ______ on.
3) How often is The Magnet on?
4) The Magnet is always __.
5) The Magnet is always on. T/F
6) The Magnet is usually on but we know to turn it off for you because you're a very special boy :) T/F
7) My weak fleshy body can survive the wrath of The Magnet. T/F
8) Look at this 500 lbs steel hospital bed, which The Magnet has crumpled into an origami crane. Imagine if that was you.
9) Is The Magnet ever off?
10) Sometimes we turn The Magnet off. T/F
Thank you for taking MRI training. We hope you learned that The Magnet is always on, because it is. It's on Right Now and it will be on every time you come to the MRI. Have fun and remember: The Magnet is always on!
I love you MRI training. The Magnet is always on.
also hereās a trick i got from reddit for breaking out of a repetitive behaviour loop/executive dysfunction freeze/unwanted hyperfocus: wiggle your fingers!!
sometimes i get stuck in a sort of trance doing repetitive/compulsive behaviours like skin picking, or i canāt snap out of a hyperfocus long enough to take care of my needs, or sometimes iām just trapped in an executive dysfunction doomscrolling freeze and physically cannot switch to tasks i need/want to do. but i saw some advice on reddit to just try get as far as wiggling your fingers (or toes, or lifting your arm above your head, etc etc) as a way to break the spell just enough to switch gears, and itās really helped me lately. i think because itās smaller and easier to accomplish than stopping the activity altogether, but once iāve wiggled my fingers i usually feel like iām out of the trance enough to be able to stop. it reminds me of focusing on wiggling your toes to break out of sleep paralysis actually, something small to focus on while your nervous system catches up to being awake. so i thought iād share!
