Fandom is so obsessed with contrasts in ships that they force them onto hollanov, a couple who are FAMOUSLY supposed to be similar. There is no slutty one and prudish one. They both love sex. There is no smart one and dumb one. They both excel at the same career where traditional metrics of academic intelligence don't apply. There is no jock and nerd. They are both professional athletes. There is no neatfreak and slob. They both pay other people to clean their houses. Please release yourself from the need to manufacture an opposites attract dynamic in every facet of their relationship, ESPECIALLY when the central conceit of hollanov as a couple is that they're more alike than everyone else seems to think.

The task is: List 10 favourite characters from 10 different fandoms, then tag 10 people.

I assume I get to choose the fandoms? - I'll simply do it this way. Btw. It was really hard to decide/find 10 fandoms? Not because I didn’t join that many during my fandom years but, I wanted kinda current ones and those I am well informed in and didn’t just collect all my knowledge through tumblr and fanfic so… I had to stalk my AO3 favourite-tags.

Heated Rivalry (because it's my current obsession - duh) This one is really tricky, because let's face it, it should be two characters I get to choose here. But, since I have to choose one, I will go with Shane. I love Ilya very much, but I empathize so much more with Shane.

Solo Leveling (because why not) Jinwoo...does this need an explanation?

MCU I thought this would be hard but no - Loki all the way. Yes I love Tony, yes I adore Bucky (or more the Winter Soldier?) but at the end of the day, I’ll always come back to the trickster god. No matter which movie – even the new ones where he sort of became a cheap joke – or the TV series (which I still haven’t finished I just realize) – I love all versions of him.

X-Men (cinematic universe or something – is that even still a thing now that they technically joined the MCU?) Eric. Sorry Charles, I love you, but I just love your murder husband more. Writing this list I fear I might see a type of character – the broody, moody, murdery ones with trauma. Yeah, Eric fits that perfectly.

Kingsmen I want to say Merlin but – I simply adore Alfie (the cat) too much. So Alfie – I want a cat like him!

Codename U.N.C.L.E. Napoleon – he is way too confident and wannabe suave but I dunno… Also he reminds me very much of the protagonist from a german spy book I loved and adored when I was younger. That guy was the true deal though – Thomas Lieven is what Napoleon longs to be.

The Hobbit   Thorin – broody, moody, trauma – sort of murdery if you are an orc or dragon?

One Piece I’m a Zoro girl, always have been. No one comes close.I just love that he seems to be this veeery serious dude, while he is actually just a dork and very silly.

Merlin Gwaine – for once not a main character! He is simply fun, especially in the first seasons he is a welcome element of chaos in the series. I love his seemingly carefree attitude, while he is actually the most loyal of them all.

Rivers of London Thomas Nightingale – used to be broody and has more than enough trauma. Surely was once murdery in his life, I don’t know about moody though. He is simply cool, and I love that he is such a well-rounded and flawed character. It’s amazing to learn more about him from book to book and see his character gain depth.

Now I don’t know who I should nominate for this one, since I just did a tag game uh – but @omens-of-what-is-to-cum wanted more of these so have fun!

Current obsession: No surprise here "heated rivalry". 24/7, every waking thought. Probably every sleeping one as well, but I never remember my dreams.  

Currently reading: Just started reading a book about learning, in preparation for my degree. But also so many fanfictions...sooo many...currently I am in a bratva/mafia rabbit hole, there are not enough, and they hardly scratch the itch.. I need more. There are so many missed opportunities. Almost started writing two myself, although I. Don't. Write.  

Currently wearing: Uhhh a very comfortable soft long dress. I like this one very much because it's very comfy but also slightly too colorful for my taste.  

Currently working on: Just returned from vacation. So not much to work on Right now. I am preparing to start a new degree next month though.  

Last google search: oh gosh, I use Google so many times a day, I genuinely can't remember. Oh I think it was the error-message from my Netflix app for my TV. 

Favorite flower: Currently probably lilies...I wonder why. But roses are very nice too. I am currently looking at a very beautiful white rose and lily bouquet (in the movie).

For me at least, the good/fun things are harder without meds too. I can have the best intentions, but following through is hard.

Yeah. I once made a post in which I complained about being frustrated at my brain, and one of the things I said was:

“I should not be struggling this much to do things that I want to do and have the time, space, energy, and skills to do. Actually, when I list it all out like that, I should not be struggling at all to do those kinds of tasks.”

the first time the centaurs see Shane having an allergic reaction is the same time they realize he is way to fucking chill about this shit; they start freaking out like "oh my god are you okay what can I do to help do you need to lay down" and being overall well-meaning and concerned and clueless as all hell

Ilya finally comes into the room like a minute later and asks Shane if he's having a reaction

and Shane actively breaking out in hives and not wanting to deal with person freaking out over him looks him dead in the eyes and goes "no I'm faking it for attention 😐"

I'm imagining it starting out genuine and then turning into a family joke (waiting for an ambulance after using an epipen and david SO faux-earnestly going, "so reaction, do you think?" *actively shaking from the epipen use* "no, i just couldn't let you win monopoly again") because it makes something that's frustrating/sometimes scary into something with at least a little funny in it

so the first time ilya asks it after he's done a training on it, shane FULLY ON REFLEX goes, "no, just wanted to try something new with my hair today 😐" and ilya's face is so visibly ?!?!?! that shane IMMEDIATELY knows this is a goldmine of fucking with him forever

The first time Ilya and Shane wrestle I think Ilya is SO confident because he has simply forgotten that he can only throw Shane around and pick him up because Shane lets him. He goes into it all cocky and smug and Shane immediately bodies him so hard he blacks out. Reality check of all time. 100% fatality rate no survivors. When Ilya comes to Shane is desperately googling what to do if you wrestle your boyfriend so hard he faints. Ilya is so pleased it's criminal. A core memory for everyone involved
