Hello, I'm Risurande ─ or Risu, for short!

I'm a young artist from Brazil, who is currently learning how to navigate through adulthood and what's my role in this everchanging world.

I'm a traditional artist, but I also like to express myself through writing and in the theater stage. I've been drawing a lot of legos lately, but I know how to draw other things.

I'm an aspiring actor, so needless to say, I'm dramatic. I want to become a voice actor and an animator, create my own animation studio and bring the stories I conceived in my head to life.

As much as I am dramatic, I also struggle reading some social glues, specially when I'm not in front of the person I'm speaking to and can't see their face. I need more time and pacience to understand new concepts than most people do, and get overwhelmed when there's too much noise and people in the room. I got better handling it through the years, but that's something I can't change about myself so, please, be patient with me...

I love animated shows, and it's been a year since I've been hyperfixating on Lego Monkie Kid, but I watch other cartoons (like The Owl House, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and The Amazing Digital Circus) and anime (like The Apothecary Diaries, Frierin and Dungeon Meshi).

I speak Portuguese as my native language, Spanish as my second and English as my third language. I'm learning French (very basic level at this moment) and Mandarin Chinese (know the meaning of some characters). Feel free to talk to me in your native language, I may not understand it entirely, but it would be an honor!

My pronouns are they/them, and I like to be referred with gender neutral nouns. If you don't know how to refer to me, it's okay, if you ask me I'll help you (but be polite, please!).

I don't have any rules, just be polite when we interact, don't ask invasive questions, don't harass people in my posts and, if you're a kid, don't interact with adults on the internet (don't you know it's dangerous? I could be anyone!).

I'm putting 'redemption arc' on a high shelf until you guys learn to use it right, that was not a redemption arc. That was an explanation.

Jax got the Bad Ending. Because of her horrible life, her parents, her homelessness, AND the terrible secret of her gender which she has always been mocked and abused for, she is unable to trust others or make friends. As a result, she lives as a bitter outcast, avoided by everyone, until she dies of self-hatred.

The real-world version of Jax managed to make friends, escape homelessness, and start hanging out at Zooble's lesbian bar, and seems like she's on the path to transitioning. This version didn't do that, and so she died miserable and alone. She's not in pain anymore and maybe they will find a way to reverse her abstraction, but still. She needed to transition. But she couldn't. It's no surprise that she couldn't bring herself to actually come out, given how horrible her life was-- but just because transitioning is too dangerous, doesn't mean that the need to transition goes away. Suffering didn't build character, it turned her paranoid, hostile, avoidant, and cold, and then killed her. It's a tragedy and a cautionary tale. Dysphoria kills. I'm grateful, in a way, for a story that shoves it in your face how dire this need really is.

People have been living in the downtown area of Tucson, Arizona for at least 4,500 years. The greater Santa Cruz river valley has been occupied by humans for 12,000 years.

That's not a river. That's the South Canal in Mesa, Arizona (Phoenix metro area).

This is a view of the East and South canals. At least half of all the Phoenix metro canals were originally built by the Hohokam (from roughly 200-1400 CE), and are still in use (restored) today.

Phoenix, Arizona actually has more miles (kilometers) of Canals total than both Venice and Amsterdam. No, really. Phoenix has about 180 miles of canals, many of which are built on ancient canal foundations.

Also want to point out that many Indigenous nations literally decided to prioritise NOT building permanent buildings. That was a choice they made. You know what permanent human-created things they left instead? THE LITERAL LANDSCAPE. Even though the settlers did their best to destroy it, the landscape was still tended and shaped by Indigenous people. Every biome that exists here was created by some nation or other, every plant was encouraged or discouraged by the local people who ranged in that area.

But more to the point: I don't need fucking buildings to know that people have been here millions of years, the people are here telling me that, and I fucking listen to them.

Tbh I don't really understand the importance placed on shipping in the LMK fandom as a baseline, just because romance isn't really apart of the show thematically. The show's focus on parent/child relationships is largely apart of LMK's themes of cycles, instead of an unprecedented interest in these kinds of relationships. Even with the only (?) canon example of romance, Red Son's crush on Mei isn't purely motivated by undefinable romantic feelings, but rather because Mei inspired him to believe in himself when nobody else did so.
