Can we appreciate the bridge part of this song. Such a masterpiece. And, see how that tempo change and the exchange of lyrics between Taylor and Justin. It’s like the clash of her thoughts (the negative and positive one) then the “you were there” part made her calm. That one person healed her. 

“Floors of the cabin creaking under my step” is a callback to Cornelia Street, the creaks on the floor they memorized.

The Lakes

 “A red rose grew up out of ice frozen ground / with no one around to tweet it / While I bathe in cliff side pools / With my calamitous love and insurmountable grief"

These lines remind me of her song Clean from her 1989 album. For me, this simply means new beginning. The red rose symbolizes growth despite the obstacles (frozen ground yet the rose grew) and no one saw that growth. (because when there is a news about a celebrity, someone will automatically tweet it) This makes the song peaceful and private. 

Why do we take a bath? to clean ourselves. In this song, bathing in the cliff side pool symbolizes cleaning herself from that “calamitous” or disastrous love (failed relationship(s)) and “insurmountable” or too great to be overcome grief. In short, she is moving on in peace. 

This is my take on this song. BTW, I am an English teacher and I also write poems. :)

what if Hoax was imspired by selena gomez 🤔🤔 it hurts more now that i realized that

bon iver exile is a sad lovestory. I see it as a romance filled with regrets and misunderstanding. The lines where bon iver said 'you never gave a warning sign' and taylor counters it with 'i gave so many signs' was heartbreaking for me because most women in a relationship will instead give signs instead of telling their partner the problem. It results in misunderstanding and overflowing emotions. I feel sad for the break up being expressed by the song. It was filled with regrets. Just my thought hahahaha

An old cardigan is a special clothing you have forgotten maybe because you had a new one or you forgot it was there under your bed. The old cardigan is a person in isolation, a lonely person who tought he/she was useless. Until someone came and discovered its existence, in perfect time, in the most unexpected circumstance, it was discovered that rainy night where the fire was not enough to warm that person.

Invisible String

I don’t know why but Invisible String gives me this vibe of a hopeless romantic who was once finding signs with every people she meet and places she went. Then magically finding a lover with all those coincidence and similarities, forgetting about the past, the heart aches, and focusing only to that great lover where your invisible string is tied to.

folklore is the perfect album to listen to when its raining outside, or when you are beside the beach at night, or when you are in front of the bonfire. Perfect imagery, perfect feels.
