grateful for the change in conversation, wen nods before replying, “if you wouldn’t mind.” he waits for her to sit before plopping down beside her, all too careful to keep a certain amount of space in between them. he opens the plastic bag and offers it to miyoung first. she had bought their breakfast with her own money after all, so he waits for her to choose a pastry before digging in himself. the arrangement they have between them is quite nice, he thinks, even if miyoung had to practically bribe him with the offer of food in exchange for being a so-called model in turn.

he doesn’t know what else to say, but hopefully miyoung talks enough for the both of them.

“if you have any questions or come up with anything else, then just tell me.” she said and got comfortable on the bench. as she was eating, she was going through different ways to use the lightning in her head, mindlessly munching on her food, which is also the first thing she’s managed to eat today and looked straight ahead. she was also worrying about if she talked too much and if he was annoyed by it, but maybe he would... say something about it then? letting out a sigh, she dragged her eyes towards the male, noticing the distance between them and kept in a smile.

“what made you want to work as a barista?” she asked finally, something she’s been curious about. he didn’t seem like a.. people’s person and working as a barista, you have to meet people all day, basically every day. it’s also pretty draining and miyoung has experienced how tired you can get after encountering alot of different people during her shifts at the convinience store.

saturday, 8 p.m, kim seokwoo, age 23, immaculate poster boy: squatting deeper than your girl on a weekend night, metal arm wrenched into a vending machine.

an amalgamation of unfortunate (sticky) events.

she wanted chocolate, but she was too lazy to go to a store to buy it. and having to go outside of campus means having to get dressed properly because she is not going to walk around in her penguin patterned pyjama pants, oversized shirt and her so-called apple hairstyle, meaning she put up the top part of her hair, making it look like a tiny palm tree sticking out of her head. her only option was the vending machine she remembered seeing a few days ago. sighing, she put on her sandals, grabbing some money before leaving her room.

when she was on her way, she tried thinking of her different errands she had the day after that she was not looking forward to. she has a habit of mumbling to herself when she was lost in her thoughts, making people look at her with a frown when passing by her, but she doesn’t notice that. what she did notice though when she arrived at the vending machine was that a boy was.. stuck with his arm in it. was she hallucinating? she blinked once, twice, three times before realizing that the boy was, in fact, real. her eyes was trained on his face and then moved along to the arm before going back to his face again.

it took her a moment to react and her first reaction was to laugh. not with the intention of laughing at him, but she couldn’t help it, her hands on her stomach as she doubled over, trying not to laugh too loud. after she was done, she stood up straight, taking a deep breath before taking a look at the boy again. she kept in the laughter this time. “oh my-- well, hello there. are you okay?” she asked, a hint of worry in her voice for this stranger. “should i call someone to help you?”

miyoung dared another look at the tall male, trying to keep in a laugh at the expression he made. it’s not the first time someone is surprised by what she can do but she is always just as amused every single time. they are even more surprised when they notice that she barely breaks a sweat after lifting any kind of heavy weight. she grabbed her waterbottle, gulping half of it down as she thought if she should give him a serious answer or not. he would figure it out sooner or later, she hopes, because if she didn’t have her power.. she probably wouldn’t even dare to lift any weights at all. she used to be afraid of gyms, actually-- the equipments always looked so complicated and dangerous. good thing she had her father to teach her how it worked and how to lift things the right way, without hurting anything. he had answered his own question and she just shot him a tight smile. “yeah, i do.” she said, crossing her arms infront of her chest. that goddamned smirk of his-- miyoung was friendly, but the way he acted was like... a typical gym frat guy. oh well, it wouldn’t hurt to introduce herself. “i’m miyoung. first year... at lotus.” she said, hesitating when mentioning her legacy. the only time she actually got some sort of reaction was from the alpha guys. she has kind of learned how to single them out in a crowd and this guy infront of her had the exact same energy as they usually do. she likes to make friends and hopes that them being in eachothers rival legacies, if he now is in alpha, doesn’t stop them from maybe getting to know eachother.
