Since I mentioned earlier how unmotivated I was feeling, I decided to keep myself accountable with this list:
What I’ve gotten done today:
made a list of points I want to include in my poetry analysis essay (and did a bit of research for it) ✓
watched videos going over heart anatomy with the plastic models we would have used if we were actually in lab (posted by one of our school’s A&P profs) ✓
watched a brief video of a heart dissection (also by one of the school’s A&P profs) ✓
took 2 pre-lab quizzes based on those videos (I swear the ones where you have to type in the answer are evil because you can type the right answer but it only accepts certain forms of that answer so thank god we get multiple attempts) ✓
heart quiz questions ✓
What I still need to do today (as of 9:32pm):
put heart structures from a list in the correct order of blood flow through the heart + submit
quiz on conduction of the heart/EKGs
finish making flashcards of info from heart lectures (I use Anki)
more research about the historical/social context of the poem
make outline for essay? (+ maybe start it?)
Yesterday I was so tired from being up all night that I couldn't even touch any of my assignments. Didn’t even want to see a notebook or anything related to my current classes. It’s almost noon and I still have zero motivation despite getting some better sleep last night. And it’s scary because I love what we’re studying in anatomy right now so why can’t I enjoy it? I also have the first essay of the semester due on Monday and I haven’t even started it or even thought about what to write. It’s only week 3 of the semester and I’m so upset with myself for feeling like this.
posting on a blackboard discussion board and replying to two of your fellow students has to be one of the nine circles of hell
Great point, Dylan! I especially agree with it being “one of the nine circles of hell”. Well said.
Especially when you have to do it for multiple classes at once AND there’s a word count goal that you have to meet ugh
Have you ever submitted an assignment and then seconds later realized that you may have written about the wrong thing?
I was probably supposed to summarize the poem but chose to focus on a particular poetic device used in it because I could've sworn that’s what the assignment was. Now I’m just hoping that since I gave examples from both the beginning and the end and how it all ties together that it will somehow not be an F.
Starting off the morning with some major triggers...not what I expected. Trying to keep myself calm by watching the snow come down. And I have a lot to do today. We’re starting a new week with a new poem in English, and we’re starting lectures on the blood today in A&PII.
The wind is picking up a bit now and we’re supposed to have blizzard conditions this afternoon, so hopefully we don't lose power.

Sorry I was speeding, officer. I was listening to Mumford and Sons and the banjo solo came on.
your speed doesn’t matter, forward is forward
It’s only week one of spring semester and I’m feeling close to burnout already. I know it’s not just the amount of assignments though. This has a lot to do with my current situation (not school related) and my mental state. I was afraid of this, and while I’m trying not to let it affect my school work, I feel tired and unmotivated in all aspects right now. It’s really disheartening because I’m supposed to be so excited about this semester. Instead I’m dreading the rest of the year, I’m angry, and I don’t want this to ruin everything. Again. Some people just never learn how to stop repeating toxic cycles and it’s unfortunate that some of us get dragged down with it.
I’m hoping I start to feel better soon. There’s so much I want to accomplish this semester.

it’s the 21st day of the 21st year of the 21st century.
you can only reblog this today.
We will raise this wounded world into a wondrous one… There is always light, if only we’re brave enough to see it. If only we’re brave enough to be it.

sometimes it’s like. I have been so brave for so long. I deserve the universe not being terrifying for 5 minutes
This is getting a lot of notes all of a sudden, y’all ok
Are you?
*starts crying*
T-4 days until the new semester starts. This is a big one because about halfway through I will find out if I’m accepted into the program. I’m trying not to think about it because I start to panic even though I have a back-up plan (which hopefully I won't have to use).
Anyway, my classes this semester are:
• English Literature & Composition
• Anatomy & Physiology II
I have some other things I need to accomplish before the semester is over that aren't school related. I desperately need new glasses but haven't gone for obvious reasons. On top of that, I’m dealing with a pretty crappy situation because of a family members not so great choices and so I have to figure out how to deal with that and not let it affect my grades. It’s going to be an interesting semester, I guess!
Well, fall semester took up all of my energy so I forgot to post on here about what was going on. I’m going to try to be more consistent this semester...
BUT
I just posted my 3rd video in a montage series about my pre-nursing classes. I really like being able to look back on them and I know I’ll love it even more in the future. I will be making a full explanation video where I actually talk about my experience with all of my pre-nursing classes because I’m sure there are many students wondering what in the world to expect like I was a year ago ( can't believe I just said a year ago!).

There’s a lot of misinformation going around about the Covid-19 vaccines, so now is a good time to bring this back.
Quick science note: of the Covid vaccines currently approved/pending that I’ve seen, none contain live or weakened viruses.
There’s not a whole virus in this particular vaccine; it’s just a little strip of genetic code that cues your body to make one of the identifying proteins of the COVID-19 virus. Your body uses up all these instructions, produces some marker proteins, realizes these proteins are foreign, and produces immunity against them. So whenever a virus that has this spike protein invades, your body already recognizes it and has a defense prepared.
