Do you guys remember how at the end of Good Omens Season One Adam refused to end the world despite supernatural interference on both sides? And how he stood up to Satan because even though he is the Antichrist, he is also a human boy raised by humans and that humanity gives him the free will to do what he wants with his life? And how there was nothing Heaven or Hell or God or Satan could do about it?

Or in Season Two where Nina and Maggie, despite Aziraphale and Crowley’s meddling fell in love in their own way and at their own speed? And how in the end they decided to take it slow because they too had the free will to do what they like and there was nothing that Heaven or Hell or God or Satan could do about it?

The point of both of these seasons, and the point of the story as a whole has always been that humanity's free will overrides any sort of immortal interference, and that even with these factors at play, humans have the ability to choose, and they have ever since Adam and Eve ate the apple.

So why is it that in the finale they decide to go back on everything the show has ever stood for? Why is it that they turn around and say that none of it ever mattered because they didn't have free will all along. They changed the point of the story just to make Aziraphale and Crowley kill themselves and call it for the greater good. This was not, as they phrased it, the only chance humanity had to be truly free. They were free all along. And if they weren't then there was no story to begin with. Without the free will of humanity, there is no Good Omens.

Something i haven't seen discussed much on here (possibly because I've been avoiding the tags because of all the hate) is that

CROWLEY AND AZIRAPHALE AREN'T IN THE BOOK OF LIFE

Michael burns the entire book. Crowley saves a *single* page. Yet Aziraphale and Crowley persist. Even when God "makes a universe" without them in it.... They still are. They persist. Aziraphale and Crowley are as foundational to creation as God and Satan themzelves (you'll notice Satan also didn't have a page)

Aziraphale and Crowley can not be deatroyed in any way that truly matters.
