Gen4 wasn't even around when Colosseum and Gale were made, but you could migrate them from Colosseum/Gale to the Gen4 games and evolve them there. That, and some of the pokemon in Colosseum/Gale were useful in completing your pokedex in R/S/E since some of them weren't accessible in the games unless traded from Colo/Gale or FR/LG

Yeah, I know that. o.o Not sure what in my post suggested I didn't.

And the Pokedex completion argument could be made for plenty of the Pokemon in XD/Colosseum, not just the ones that got evolutions in 4th gen.

..What is with Colosseum/XD and giving you Shadow Pokemon that got evolutions in 4th gen?

Yanma, Gligar, Sneasel, Piloswine, Aipom, Murkrow, Duskull, Snorunt (though it did have Glalie as an evo in gen 3), Roselia, Nosepass, Togepi, Tangela, Magneton, Misdreavus, Electabuzz, Rhydon, and Magmar.

17 (16 if you don't count Snorunt) out of about 131 across the two games, so...about 13% of Pokemon you can snag in the games, 12% without Snorunt, aren't that useful until gen 4. o-o
