Robotics Genius and Father

I am Doctor Thomas Light. I created Rock, also known as Mega Man, and his sister, Roll, as well as the Robot Masters. I work in hopes to create a brighter future through robotics. With the progress that's been made, perhaps that "brighter future" is not too far off! ((Independent RP blog for Dr. Light from Mega Man. This blog is based off the Archie Comics only. Which Amy takes as her cue to enter the lab, boots clicking softly against the tiles as she meets up with the human. 

"I’m okay, I guess… It’s been so boring at home lately! And even worse, Sonic was away so I couldn’t give him his present! I’d baked him a cake, but… He’s been away for too long. It ended up going stale… Maybe I’ll just bake some cookies for him when he gets back."

"That sounds like a good idea," Dr. Light replies, nodding. "We can help, if you'd like. Roll likes to cook. Unless you want them to be special."

He chuckles, shrugging.

"I’ve been rather busy these days…"

Casually peeks in around the corner.

"Daaaaaaaaaaaaad."

[roboticsgeniuslight]

"Amy?" He blinks, turning away from his work.

"Oh! What a surprise! I wasn't expecting a visit." He chuckles, standing and walking over to her.

"How are you, dear?"

"I've been rather busy these days..."

{ღ};— Amy was silent for the longest time before she replied the genius.

" … You need it more than me. I understand how you feel though. Exactly.

I know what it’s like … to lose somethin’ very precious to you and you can’t do a-anythin’ about it. So please, I’ll comfort you in any way I can, Dr. Light.”

"Thanks, Amy..." 

Dr. Light quietly starts to cry, tears falling again.

{ღ};— Amy then gently rubs the side of her head against his chest as she closed her eyes. The little girl fully understand what the genius is going through. Every painful breath and ache in his chest as he knows by every second of the unbarring reality; the pain of losing someone very dear to you and knowing you’ll never see them again. Amy fights back really hard to keep her tears at bay in her eyelids for Dr. Light’s sake.

" … Go ahead, let it all out. I’ll be your crying shoulder for however long it takes."

"You can cry too, you know," he replied quietly as he starts to cry again. 

"At least he fought long and hard..."

{ღ};— Even though Amy took her stuff out the lab yesterday, the hedgehog came back for a simple visit … however was faced with the grim news about the blue bombers death. She didn’t know the robot personally but knew a few people could use some comforting. Amy decides to visit the lab. She doesn’t make a sound … then she looks in a room to see the genius in his chair … mourning over the loss of his son. The little hedgehog pushes whatever negative feelings she had for Dr. Light and walks over to him, wrapping her arms around his legs, seeing as that is the best she could do.

Feeling something hug his legs, Dr. Light looked up. He said nothing as he picked the little hedgehog up and set her in his lap, gently petting her as he wiped away his tears.

"My favorite? I'm afraid I don't have a favorite! I love all of my inventions."

{ ❤ } — “…”  C’mon, Dr. Light. Don’t do that! Amy groans, shifting uncomfortably. Fine. Fiiiiiiiiine. She did say she’d give Wily a chance the last time they’d had this conversation…

“I don’t trust him, dad. I don’t think he’s changed at all— And I’m not going to trust him until he proves to me that he’s worthy of it. But… If I’m right, and he hasn’t… Maybe people reachin’ out to him or whatever will help ‘im along the way and he really will get better. So… Fine. Until I’m proven right, I’ll give Wily the benefit of the doubt. Sound good?”

"Y-Yeah, alright," Dr. Light replies quietly, sitting down in a chair. "I'm terribly sorry, Amy. I don't mean to guilt you into it... I just want everyone to be happy."

{ ❤ } — “I’m not coming over with him the—”  Amy stops, changing her mind mid-sentence. C’mon, Amy. This is Dr. Light’s old friend, and one he still seems to care about deeply. You’re just going to hurt his feelings this way. 

"Er, well, I mean— I think I heard my refrigerator running! Eheh… B-better go catch it!"

"... No, no, Amy. It's alright. I understand that you don't like Albert." 

Dr. Light's voice has taken on a sad tone, something that's quite rare from him.

"I won't make you stay. Elec Man sure didn't. You're free to leave. I just wish you guys would give Albert a chance. I really think he's changed..."

He quickly wipes the tears that gathered in his eyes, sighing softly.

"Albert? Why are you sitting on Elec Man?"

A certain genius is laying in bed on his laptop.

"Amy, don’t provoke him…"

{ ❤ } — “He started it! If that dumb penguin wants a fight, he can have one! How dare he insult you…!”

"But it still isn't right. What did he do, exactly?"

"Amy, don't provoke him..."

[roboticsgeniuslight]

Dr. Light at least smiles at that. “I’m glad,” he replies softly. “I just want everyone to be happy. I’ve been working so hard so everyone can be happy and—” The genius stops abruptly, going into a bit of a coughing fit. “A-And everything I try, someone gets upset. I guess you can’t please everyone, though…”

{ ❤ } — “You sound like you’re working yourself sick trying to accommodate everyone but yourself…”

Amy sighs, shaking her head and removing herself from the scientist’s lap. 

"I’m gonna make you a cup of tea, okay? That should help your throat. Then you’re gonna go to bed, or go watch a movie, or— Well— Anything that’ll relax you!"

She drops a light kiss to his forehead, giving the doctor a tiny smile.

"Hey, daddy? I love you, alright? Please remember to take care of yourself too!"

Dr. Light nods, murmuring a thank you as he stood back up. He smiles again when Amy told him that she loves him. She really was a sweet girl... "I love you too, Amy. I'll try to remember to."

He pets her head gently, looking down at her. “It’s alright, Amy. I understand what you were saying. I was listening to you… Maybe I am being a bit naive.” He sighs, rubbing his eyes.

[hedgehoghammer]

{ ❤ } — Ohh, geez. The girl practically melts at the touch, lapsing into a series of low, rumbly purrs as her tail starts wagging. Talk about comforting.

"…Maybe I’m just being too critical. But— I just… Don’t want you being hurt, dad… I can only imagine how painful it was the first time around; I don’t want you going through that again—! But I’ll try to trust Dr. Wily a little more, I guess… If it’ll make you happy. There’s no concrete proof he caused this, right…? So until there is, I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.”

…Not quite true. She still doesn’t trust Wily at all; Amy probably never will. But she’ll back off and let things play out for her adoptive father’s sake.

{ ❤ } — Ah, good. He’s waking up. Amy helps Dr. Light into a sitting position, then makes herself comfortable in his lap and wraps her arms around him.

"I’m sorry, dad."

He pets her head gently, looking down at her. "It's alright, Amy. I understand what you were saying. I was listening to you... Maybe I am being a bit naive." He sighs, rubbing his eyes.
