MAJOR SPOILERS FOR STARFIELD!

Just finished my first run of Starfield and since finding out that Keeper Aquilius and The Hunter are modeled and voiced by Keir Dullea, I have a theory that is now head canon:

The Hunter/Aquilius is in fact, David Bowman from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Obviously the game takes a great deal of inspiration from the movie. While there are some differences, and The Hunter/Aquilius appear older than Dave was when he was reborn, to me it makes perfect sense that they are from that universe and have run the cycle of Unity countless times to the point of aging. Albeit slowly.

The Hunter, when you side with him, even says something along the lines of "I am a lot older than you realize" as he reminisces about his time on Earth.

It's a fun thought and I'm sticking to it!
