So, the narrative parallels between these four has been haunting me for so long that I was possessed to draw something about it. I realized during the sketch phase that it can be argued that each of them are goose-like in their own ways, so I decided to assign them each their own quarter of the goose. Ryland represents the head of the goose due to his intelligence and how crucial he was to saving humanity in Project Hail Mary. Liir and Anders represent the wings of the goose for their unexpected acts of violence. These two are the only ones to destroy a city and go "yeah, I'd do that again if I had to. I regret it, but I will reoffend." They are also characters who are crucial to the stories they reside in, however, they are not considered "main characters" until something drastic happens. I chose Liir to represent the left wing since his powers revolve around seeing into the past. Anders represents the right since his actions at the end of Dragon Age II demonstrate his concern for the future, even if he doesn't get to live to see it. Lastly, Simon represents the tail of the goose due to his role as the SM-13's navigator. Aside from this, he is only one out of the four to both show remorse and not commit the same crime again (Grace's lack of oversight of the Astrophage dispensing system led to the deaths of DuBois and Shapiro as well as his threats to sabotage the mission before takeoff, so he does count as being responsible for a person's death and I am choosing to take Simon's words in the movie as true and he wasn't aware of what would happen to Filament Station nor did he participate in its destruction), earning him the surprising designation of being the least violent "Man who wakes up with a bomb, prophecy, and inconvenient desire to survive"
