Natasha: I know of two surefire ways to shut a man up. And one of them is sex.
Wanda: What’s the other one?
Natasha: I don’t know. I’ve never had to use the other one.

thank god Coulson is their handler because I don't think anyone else in SHIELD could deal with those idiots
just Maria Hill getting Natasha out of the cold weather
Can't resist a good 'draw this pose as your ship' challenge [x]
natasha romanoff + reassurance.
Natasha is a spy, first and foremost. No one ever sees her coming until it's too late. Commander Hill knows this. She's used it to their advantage more times than not.
Maria also knows this, distantly, in the early hours of the morning, when she's still out of her uniform. She knows it, blurry through the exhaustion of a long day, hair down and shoulders slumped. It still escapes her.
Natasha comes into her life, slow and quiet. A summer breeze, forgone in the blinding, burning sunshine that is her mere presence. She sneaks up on Maria.
The feelings that follow sneak up on them both. And, really, who can blame them? After all, Natasha's a spy. She can sneak up on anyone.
Natasha: Hey, wanna take a shower with me?
Maria: I have a gun in that nightstand beside the bed. If I ever say no to that question, I want you to take it out and shot me because I’ve obviously gone crazy.

"It ate the light."
"That's some bad hat."
"Don't go in the water."
"Smile, you son-of-a...!"
"Maybe I should go alone."
"He didn't eat a car, did he?"
"You knew it was dangerous!"
"This was no boating accident."
"No. It was only local jurisdiction."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Where is that tooth? Did you see it?"
"If you want to stay alive, then ante up."
"I helped tow it in, you should've seen it!"
"Oh, uh, that's a tattoo, I got that removed."
"Did you notify the Coast Guard about this?"
"I don't have to take this abuse much longer."
"No, I didn't see it. He dropped it on the way in."
"Trying to get retribution against a fish is crazy."
"What are you? Some kind of half-assed astronaut?"
"I'll catch this bird for you, but it ain't gonna be easy."
"We've never had that kind of trouble in these waters."
"It’s not a murderer. It’s just obeying its own instincts."
"She’s nice enough, but she’s got the IQ of an artichoke."
"I thought he was asleep, reached over to wake him up…"
"Well, I guess it would be the only way to confirm it, huh?"
"Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water…"
"I value my neck a lot more than three thousand bucks, chief."
"Two people were killed in a week and it's gonna happen, again."
"The odds might be good, but the stakes were prohibitively high."
"You can't go off half-cocked looking for vengeance against a fish."
"Y'know, that was the time I was most frightened, waiting for my turn."
"I don't think you appreciate the gut reaction people have to these things."
"But still my boy is dead now. And there's nothing you can do about it."
"You're not gonna have a summer unless you deal with this problem!"
"That's why you're gonna sign this, and we're gonna pay that guy what he wants!"
"We're really a little anxious that you're, ah, you're rushing into something serious here."
"I'm not going to waste my time arguing with a man who's lining up to be a hot lunch."
"And there's no limit of what he's going to do. I mean we've already had three incidents."
"Intellectually, they knew a great deal. Practically, they chose to know almost nothing."
"Isn't it true that most people are attacked by sharks in three feet of water and about ten feet from the beach?"
"That's right! You were! You were acting in the town's best interest, and that's why you're gonna do the right thing!"
"Other fish run from bigger things. That’s their instinct. But this fish doesn’t run from anything. He doesn’t fear."
"I think that I am familiar with the fact that you are going to ignore this particular problem until it swims up and bites you in the ass!"
"The past always seems better when you look back on it than it did at the time. And the present never looks as good as it will in the future."
remorse ... sentence starters
"I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry."
"I'm sorry, okay?? I'm sorry!"
"This all went to hell so fast…"
"I didn't want you to hear that."
"This was a horrible mistake…"
"I never meant for any of this…"
"You weren't meant to see that."
"I didn't mean to hurt you like this."
"I hope you'll forgive me someday."
"This wasn't supposed to happen…"
"I'm sorry you got caught up in this."
"I never wanted you to see me like this."
"I don't even know what to say... I'm just sorry."
"Don't lecture me, I already feel awful enough."
"You think I meant for it to go this way? I'm sorry!"
"This was why I didn't tell you... I didn't want you to know about this."
"I'm not going to apologize for doing it. It had to be done. I'm just sorry you had to see it."
