You know, there’s certain media I will forget about for months on end, but absolutely adore whenever I remember it.

Fablehaven is one of those books.

Raxtus is one of my favorite characters in anything.

I love how Newel and Doren interact with Seth and Knox and Tess.

I love Patton and Lena.

Just such a good book series in general.

I will never get over or understand why Stan thought NEWEL and DOREN, who are extremely irresponsible, would make a good babysitter for Tess and Knox. And what is worse IS THAT THEY WERE ACTUALLY REALLY GOOD BABYSITTERS.

Watched a great talk today about web/technology accessibility, and the speaker pointed out that yes, accessibility is important for people with permanent disabilities, and we should definitely care about that. But also accessibility helps EVERYBODY, because everybody will, at some point in their lives, find themselves in situations that accessible technology can help with. I’m sorry but after thinking about it some more I just love the idea that Fablehaven the preserve is the forgotten child of all the preserves.

Like at every other preserve there were a bunch of people living and employed there.

In the first book its almost exclusively Stan, Dale, and Hugo doing everything.

Every other preserve has specially treated ancient weapons that were passed on for generations.

At Fablehaven they had Dale with a shotgun.

Like when was Patton even there? He was the official caretaker for decades but was always traveling.

And he gained a huge reputation but still nobody cared about Fablehaven.

Anyways Fablehaven is just in the middle of some neighborhood in Connecticut and no one cares about it in the magical community and I just love that so much.
