so i had this wall-e sort of vision for the endermen where they just sort of stack all the blocks they gather, endlessly

but apparently i reinvented the wheel. there’s already a theory that enderman are a mutated/cursed version of the ancient builders. they take and place blocks due to an instinct remembered from the past.

so sometimes, i imagine that endermen gain a little clarity. every so often, this particular enderman remembers how to turn the jukebox on. it listens to music it can’t quite recall. and it builds and builds these nonsensical stacks of blocks because its body had once helped construct civilizations, but now, it has neither the mind nor memory to carry out the task.
