Me: Alright I’m going to be super productive tomorrow!
Me, the second my alarm goes off:
Acrylic on Belgian linen 100×120 cm “Uncle Sasha’s Fishing Spot”
I started this painting in 2019 and finished it only in 2021. Sometimes inspiration comes in waves. You live inside a painting for months, then suddenly you cannot touch the canvas anymore, and only years later you understand how it truly should look. In large countries there is so much nature, so many lakes, rivers, forests, and hidden places far away from big cities. Most people live in megacities, while villages and forest areas stay almost empty. Because of this, local people often begin to feel that a certain lake or fishing spot is “theirs.” Not because they legally own it, but because it is part of their life. They rest there, fish there, sometimes even sell fish from there, build small gazebos, improve the area, bring things there, because it is allowed and because this is simply how people live with nature. And usually they happily share these places with strangers who arrive with kindness and respect. This place was called “Uncle Sasha’s Fishing Spot.” We arrived there by boat because reaching it by car was almost impossible unless you knew hidden forest roads that do not even exist on Google Maps. After some time the owner of the place appeared and politely tried to send us away, but kindness and smiles did their work. By the end we separated almost like friends, and Uncle Sasha told us, “Come visit us again.” Sometimes there is no need to argue that “everything belongs to everyone.” If a local person says it is their place, let it be so. You can simply respect that feeling, make friends, and then the place becomes yours too for a little while.

the fun thing about having a mental health crashout in your thirties is that sure yeah you're crashing out, but at the same time there's a part of you standing across the room smoking ben affleck style, going yeah yeah you're crashing out. you crashed out before you will crash out again can we wrap this up yet. and the most annoying part about it is that they're right, and that that does Not stop you from crashing out even a little. love and light on planet earth.
me, strongly dissociating, staring into space:
cunt-ass part of my brain swigging whiskey from across the room: yeah yeah you're not real we get it. that's not gonna get the dishes done and the trash taken out tho is it 🤨
[no beers in] do you think im ever going to belong somewhere
I want to be heard (doesn’t speak) I want to be understood (doesn’t explain) I want to be seen (acts like if a missing person was right in front of everybody)
feels like im always recovering. when do i get to live
"it's okay to rest for as long as you need from burnout" how long is it actually going to take though. there's stuff i wanna do.
"I got that dog in me"
The dog in question:
the version of you from five years ago would be genuinely amazed by what you’ve handled since then. sit with that for a second
Me from five years ago would actually be amazed by how much better I’m doing mentally now
sometimes you gotta bite the bullet and put "text your friend whom you love and genuinely want to talk to" on your to-do list because otherwise it is not getting done
honestly so glad this one is gaining traction. just saw it in my notifications and went "MAN ALRIGHT" to text yet another person i have been genuinely wanting to text back for days

Hey (with the intention of cooking us dinner and holding a wooden spoon out for you to try the sauce I'm making)
