gonna toss up a tiny baby ad for kerry here while all the servants scream at each other. cap’s at 2 but fate castmates can like past the cap, up to an additional 4 likes.
RIDER (ISKANDER.)
“If it is alcohol you seek, I surely would not mind sharing a glass with you, Saber’s master. However, I am currently quite sound of mind. A conquest matters little without a formidable enemy to oppose me. Unlike certain other individuals, I do not believe in underhanded tactics and easy victories.”
“Yes, because your so-called ‘honour’ worked wonderfully for your quest for the Grail in the end.” Admittedly, he fared little better at seizing the Grail for himself, but perhaps that was for the best. “Besides, I doubt that you’ll find your conquest to be particularly achievable. From the little I’ve gathered of this place’s inhabitants, they’ll be no more inclined to join you than the other Servants were during our war.”
“I had hoped that the Servants that had been summoned here without their Masters would be a little less... unruly than this.” Of course, he knows how Rider is - he’s still not sure if the house was repaired fully after his little visit.
RIDER (ISKANDER.)
“It would seem our proclamation of conquest has garnered the attention and ire of nearby servants. But to stand in the shadows where they cannot be seen.. Very well then!”
“LET THOSE WHO ARE NOT COWARDS STAND DIRECTLY BEFORE ME TO AIR THEIR GRIEVANCES! LEST YOU EARN THE SCORN OF THE KING OF CONQUERORS!”
“You’re much too noisy without your Master here, Rider.” He’s already tired of dealing with him, especially after the last time he saw the Servant Rider in person. “Have you already gotten drunk tonight, or is this your sober yelling into the air at nobody in particular?”
I’ve been screaming for years and no one has ever heard me.

The knock on his door is sudden, and he reacts much too slow for someone his age. Kiritsugu let out a pained breath that was meant to be something more; he’s much too exhausted for that. Admittedly, his reasons for that are much more mundane than usual - he’d spent far longer than necessary re-arranging the little hovel he now called home, and had hurt himself as a result. As such, though he had the means to cook, his body wouldn’t allow it; so, delivery it was.
Eventually, he made his way to the door, stopping briefly to nurse his ailing self. The food he’d ordered was simple - the only menu he had on hand was one for a Chinese restaurant down in another district - but it would likely taste all the sweeter after the work he had done today.
“Sorry I took so long answering the door. I hope this is enough of a tip.” He hands her a bill, hoping that a little extra would be sufficient - and she’s brought multiple bags. Wonderful. They gave him too much.
▹ @fakeworks
“I’ve already told you. I have no idea who you are.”
What had begun as a peaceful day of rest and recuperation at the park quickly became little more than a hassle; Kiritsugu quietly wondered if perhaps bed rest would have suited him better. In truth, the strange girl who approached him in such a way only wanted to know who he was and whether he was someone she knew, but he’d never seen her before. She looked vaguely like Ilya, but that fact brought him some greater disdain; a reminder of what he had lost with his personal failings.

A cigarette finds its’ way between pursed lips; a familiar action he’s done several times. Yet, something about it now feels different to Kiritsugu; the sharp yet fleeting pain he normally feels upon his first drag seems much less severe. A dull throbbing, evidently, overtakes his body; it’s far from enough to put him down in any way, but it’s still something he needs time and effort to get used to. He’s still alert enough to hear a shuffling, but he doesn’t really react to it - he’s weary, and few are those who would want him dead here.
Instead, he simply holds out his pack of cigarettes - a generic store brand, but still toxic enough to get the job done, he supposed - to the one who’s taken the seat next to him on the bench. A slight tilt of the head brings his hand back in, though; he didn’t think the person next to him would be quite this young. Or, at least, she appeared young; he dared not take the chance.
“I suppose you’re here to get me to put out my cigarette. A no-smoking area, I’d imagine.” He’s well aware that there would be signs for that, but perhaps it would do to quell the oppressive silence he finds himself wallowing in.

alright well, i have some stuff in my drafts from before, but i’m feeling... daring. so, here’s an uncapped ad for good ol’ sad dad here.
Upon the apartments and houses of nearly every single citizen within the city*, a letter arrived with the pattern of a golden eagle – an invitation, clearly, detailing to its reader an upcoming celebration.
Dear …,
Enclosed within this letter is an invitation to enjoy the festivities and company of the USHIROMIYAS in coming days at a HALLOWEEN EXTRAVAGANZA at their MANSION in SECTOR FIVE.
Food, drinks, and a menagerie of activities will all be provided for attendees to enjoy, including a COUPLES’ CONTEST. COSTUMES are welcome and encouraged, though your gracious hosts only ask to see this INVITATION in order to attend.
Sincerely,
LORD BATTLER AND LADY BEATRICE.
Each letter had a wax seal with a similar emblem as the print, as if each one had been handled with personal care. Attached to the letter was an address to the Ushiromiya Mansion along with a date and time: 7:00 PM ON OCTOBER FOURTH.
Almost immediately after being opened and read, the wax seal turned into a golden butterfly which flew around for a moment before dispersing into small, golden droplets.
(*A certain assassin did not receive an invitation, perhaps it got lost in the mail…)

“You look like you’ve had a rough day every single day of your life. Must suck to be an old man, huh? That means your life sucks AND you can’t have fun playing videogames!”
“I don’t think that’s much of a loss. Apparently most video games now aren’t very good. A simple way for businessmen to get rich quick, no doubt.”
“There are children here. Enough.”
