also, two playlists appeared on their spotify last year - the light hurts & the dark hurts, it may not be connected but it would be great if they reissued exile too (since it passed its 10 year anniversary) and went on a light hurts/dark hurts tour aka happiness/exile where they'd just play these two albums only

Hello Planet Earth! Summer is here and for those who are curious, I thought I’d provide some kind of update. As you’ve probably gathered by now, there won’t be any HURTS shows this year. Last summer was a really special time. A magical few weeks reconnecting with you and the music after so long. And to follow all of that up with our first number one single in Germany in January, it was just perfect! Naturally, the mechanics of the band have changed over time. Things operate differently than they used to. Of course, there will be more shows in the future but it’s not easy to say when. Your continued love and support during these fallow periods is very much appreciated. We’ve been making music together for almost two decades, and honestly never thought we’d make it this far. So thank you for everything! As for new HURTS music, there currently isn’t anything on the horizon. Adam and I care so deeply about the music we make together. From the start, we committed to always make music with purpose and passion. To always have confidence and find connection in what we create for the band. When the time comes, we’ll be ready to strike. Until then, we’ll continue to pursue inspiration wherever it takes us. These days, I spend most of my time working with other artists, as a writer and producer. It’s a side step, but something I find incredibly rewarding and inspiring. Inhabiting other people’s creative worlds is an exciting and enriching process. It’s really helped me to fall in love with things all over again. I’m making music every day, learning from fellow artists and constantly exploring new territory. Mostly importantly though, it’s a lot of fun! So that’s where things are at. I know it’s probably not the urgent update that some of you were hoping for! But rest assured, HURTS will be back… Big love to you all, Tx
