The fic is called “Brilliance in the Moonlight” by rosweldrmr on AO3. I haven’t seen it recced on your blog, even though it’s genuinely amazing! The writing is so beautiful and I’m already crying even though I’ve only just finished chapter 3 T_T (it’s finished btw)

I will rec my treasure, my gem, my absolute favorite, the fic that eased my misery in the last year. Event Horizon by MonstrousRegiment, it’s a mdzs fusion with horizon zero down and it’s amazing. You like space opera? Batshit machines? A fic where all the good ones lives? People being nice to wwx and want to protect him? An intriguing plot? The juniors? Yunmeng bro reconciliation? Event Horizon

Summary: Wei Wuxian: rogue inventor, machine tinkerer, pilot, war hero, quite good-looking if he says so himself (and he does) wakes up after thirteen years of cryosleep.
This is awkward for many reasons: he thought he was dead; the whole world (actually, several worlds) also thought he was dead; his brother (who killed him) thinks he’s dead and wants him to stay that way; Lan Zhan… does what Lan Zhan does, which Wei Wuxian couldn’t explain thirteen years ago, let alone now.
Machines have run amok, planetary tensions are high, some people thought to be dead are not, some people that are alive really need to die like right now, it’s all a mess, and someone’s developed a version of alcohol which doesn’t get you drunk.
Sometimes science really does go too far.

okay I’m going CRAZY - I’m looking for a fic where after wwx died, lwj went back to the burial mounds at some point and when he came home, a spirit version of the Yiling Patriarch followed him? and then when wwx came back, this hallucination would still stick around, and later the plot twist was that it wasn’t actually a hallucination, it was a curse, and in the end they got rid off it. Also, at first the spirit was super cruel to lwj, but in the end they were kinda friends? thank you so much!! Absolutely phenomenally done! It’s always-a-woman!LWJ and WWX but canon compliant otherwise, set during the sunshot campaign and the aftermath of WWX’s death, respectively. It’s mainly a series of conversations/interactions between LWJ and LZC and it’s so so so good
Enough To Go By

Hi! I wanted to recommend ‘My Verse Dried on Your Skin’ by Invitan (on AO3) to you and your followers if you haven’t come across it already. It’s a modern AU set in Brooklyn where WWX and LWJ are practitioners of a type of magic based on Vietnamese indigenous religious practices and it’s just really beautiful and I love it so much, I think everyone should read it. ~ @deliciousblizzardshark

Hello! Your blog is really cool! I’m not sure how you prefer receiving ficrecs, but I thought I’d rec one that’s on both ao3 and ffnet. It’s “Rise of the Divine Oracle” by BlakSalt. It’s finished, a post canon fic which does additional worldbuilding on wwx’s powers while also him dealing with trauma of his first life and being forcibly resurrected/used/abused by cultivation world. Also a mystery as they stop bad guys, wangxian fluff, lan zhan actually having friends, and mentor lan qiren!

Hi mojo! Here’s another ficrec for you! It’s a wip on ao3 called “Please Take This Radish” by Wildcard. It’s super cute and creative diverging au, based around the premise if xue yang was taken in by wwx and the wen at burial mounds in between outsider visits (so no one knows he’s there) and escapes with a-yuan after wwx’s death. And it’s a bit of a mystery because neither xue yang or the reader knows exactly what happened. Very nice world building and characterization!

Xue Yang is the first and best disciple of the Yiling Patriarch. He is excellent at raising corpses, spectacular at making talismans and an expert swordsman.
He is also 11 years old, trying to raise a toddler and has been mistaken for a de-aged Yiling Patriarch.
Life is not going well.

A diverging au time travel fix it, where wwx gets to go back in time to when he was 7 in Yiling (before he was found by the Jiangs) after his death at Nightless City, retaining both his cultivation knowledge and that of the future. The catch? “The cost of seeing the future is the inability to see the present”. He has a chance to save everyone, he intends to take it.

Hi mojo another ficrec for you! “Wuqian, the Local God of Yiling” by Grace_ShadowWolf (TaubeLePigeon) on ao3. Has a lot of Chinese culture, mythology, religion references etc. Basically before getting completely into the afterlife, wwx is stopped by a god and given the chance to attempt ascending to godhood himself. He takes it, wanting to protect the people he left behind in the mortal world. Very funny, secret identities, fix it set in the 16 yrs of wwx’s death. Baby junior quartet!

The cultivators in the room break off in mutterings and whispers over the information presented by Xiao Xingchen, several nodding in agreement with the man. But Jin Guangshan didn’t speak. His focus was on the white-haired and red-eyed person standing next to Xiao Xingchen.
“Who is this peculiar young master beside you, Daozhang?”, Jin Guangshan asked, scratching his chin in curiosity.
“Who? Me?”, Wei Wuxian smiled. “Replying to His Excellency, I am the local god of Yiling, titled Gui Wangzi. I helped Daozhang in apprehending Xue Yang and destroyed the Stygian Tiger Seal. My name is…”
Everyone leaned forward to listen. They were excited! It’s not everyday that you get to meet a god.
“Wuqian!”
“…”
Or, Wei Wuxian gets turned into a god to protect his remaining loved ones.

Wei Ying breaks the silence first. “Don’t look at me like that, of course I know I’m lactose intolerant. We’re both lactose intolerant. I don’t even know how we have this cheese.” He tries to laugh, but gives up when a tiny piece of cheddar escapes his mouth. He is utterly ridiculous. Lan Zhan is in love with him.
