Connie Springer and Robyn Hubert, a couple known for their tenderness and intimacy in every gesture they exchange with each other. Meet since they’re kids, but due to the distance between Trost and Ragako, it wasn’t very possible to see each other too often, adding an extremely busy life they had individually; connie being the eldest of his family and helping them in everything, meanwhile Robyn, the youngest daughter but still a strong piece for her older sister Esther whom worked hard to provide her a decent life after their parents were murdered and then Robyn finds a job at a barbershop when she’s 8 years old in order to help her sister. Similar experiences, different ways to cope, but finding a piece of each other in their lover’s eyes. Facing every challenge together no matter what happens, if the world is falling, they’re gonna stand strong. Together.

As the island got contact with people from outside the walls, many things have changed ever since. And by year 853, a railroad was the next big thing to come. The Scout Regiment was in charge of that area, specifically Levi’s squad. The sun was too strong and they were already exhausted, while also awaiting a response from the Hizuru nation in regards to their alliance.

Section commander Robyn and her assistant— and significant other— team leader Connie, told their comrades to take a small break before anyone fainted or something else. There was only a set of two trees from afar so the team rested under its shade and putting some blankets for more comfort. The couple also decided to lay down for just a moment while gently holding their hands and enjoying the small breeze that came amidst the heat.

All while they joked on how muscular they would get after this and with Connie saying that Robyn would be just as hot as the weather in that moment. That made Robyn laugh and blush because of it. Moments like that were simply perfect.

Alone in the garden, the princess and her jester talked together. He couldn’t help but lock his eyes on the way his beloved moved whenever she spoke, her voice was enchanting for him and it’s been like that for a long time. For both.

The shared gazes, those complicit smiles and how sometimes they brushed their fingers whenever they walked past, none of them wanted to rush whatever they had going on but both understood that it wasn’t just some silly games they had as friends, but escalated into something else. Love.

“For you, I would give up my crown and escape. Far away where not even dragons can find us. Just us and what we are. No more princess and jester, just Robyn and Connie”. The princess spoke softly with a hand on his shoulder.

“I would not ask you to leave what you’ve known your whole life. Yes I want us to be together, and I want to keep you safe from any kind of danger and bring a smile to your face each day” he replied, brushing his fingers across Robyn’s skin, feeling then softness through his glove. “We’ll figure this out, but promise me to talk to me first before doing anything, please” he pleaded. Cheeks flushed as she placed a hand over his.

“I promise, darling”.

Their eyes locked one more time until they leaned close to each other. They haven’t kissed yet and both were unsure about what to do, but they will figure out just like they always do.

And to end the night and after the small party her friends organized, Connie took Robyn to their special spot which was the lake he showed to her years ago, in which he asked Robyn to be his girlfriend and became their secret hideout to spend some time alone. Connie already gave to Robyn his present and with it, a peony since he knew those were one of her favorite flowers.

The sounds of the nature surrounding them, along with a few fireflies and the beautiful starry sky while enjoying each other’s company. Connie was resting his head on Robyn’s lap while admiring her beauty and talking softly to her.

Robyn stopped enjoying her birthdays after her older sister died, but thanks to the warmth of her friends and the love of Connie, she regained her excitement so she once again found purpose in celebrating them.
