Steve is about to die. He somehow sacrificed himself and saved everyone, just like he had always intended. He’s lying on the ground with all the Avengers standing around him, & Natasha has his head in her lap. A camera shot from above that slowly moves towards him, and just as it gets to his eyes, he takes his last breath and closes his eyes. The camera shot is just of his eyes, and at the very moment he closes them, he opens them. The sound is muffled, the background is hazy and foggy. The camera slowly pans back and as it does, we see Steve standing, sounds slowly start to come in, we start hearing swing music softly playing in the background. The camera still panning back, we see more of Steve and notice that he’s wearing his formal olive green military uniform. More sounds come in, we hear heels tapping on a wooden floor, people talking & laughing, and glasses clinking. As the camera continues to pan back, we notice a bright neon sign behind Steve. The camera pans back to a full shot of Steve and we see that the sign behind him reads “The Stork Club”. He’s looking around and he looks to the side. The camera shot changes to a clock on the wall, which shows that it’s exactly “8:00pm”. The camera changes back to Steve & he’s looking in front of him, his eyes clearly locked on someone and he starts to smile. The camera stays on him as we hear an approaching & familiar voice say, “you’ve made it”. The camera changes to show Peggy walking up, in her classic red dress. The camera changes back to Steve, he smiles and says “well I couldn’t leave my best girl. Not when she still owes me that dance”. They take each other’s hands and walk onto the dance floor. The camera changes to a wide shot of the dance floor as they walk on it, and start to dance. The camera slowly pans back as they continue to dance, and the shot slowly fades to white. The camera changes back to Steve lying on the ground, dead. The camera comes from his eyes, shot from above and slowly pans up and away from him. As it pans back we see that a soft smile is left on Steve’s face. Shot from above, the camera continues to pan back until it, once again shows the Avengers standing around him. The shot slowly fades out. Steve is finally home.
