... so you can imagine my shock when I found out that they do, in fact, both die at the end.
What if Rufusās death wasnāt quick.
What if he got hit by a car but didnāt die on impact. He lays on the street badly injured and possibly bleeding out, Mateos voice still blasting in his ears. In immense pain, he smiles a little at the thought of meeting Mateo in the afterlife soon.
Since I suffered, y'all are suffering with me
Luca and Alberto give off the same energy as Mateo and Rufus
Alex and Henry from Red White and Royal Blue were the reincarnation of Achilles and Patroclus
Luca and Alberto were the reincarnation of Mateo and Rufus-
so something iāve noticed:
in red white and royal blue, henry and alex bring up āyour songā by elton john often and itās kinda their song.
in they both die at the end, āyour songā by elton john shows up too and itās also one of their songs.
alex and henry get to make history whilst rufus and mateo wish they had history.
and on this episode of āi need therapyā -
And that's where I escort you out the door - this way please ššŖ

They Both Die At The End by Adam Silvera SPOILERS I GOTTA TALK ABOUT THIS PEOPLE
WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT
YEAH WE ALL KNEW THEY WOULD DIE AT THE END
BUT IT DIDNT HAVE TO BE THAT SAD CHRIST
Okay I LOVED THE LAST LINE OF THE BOOK āI cross the street without a arm to hold me backā FUCKING GENIUS. THAT WAS A GOOD LAST LINE FOR THIS. WHO WOULDāVE THOUGHT.
Anyways, my theory, and Iām sure everyone thinks this because itās kinda obvious, BUT it was definitely Victor who killed him. He was on his way speeding to Althea park, and thatās right weāre Rufus crossed the street. So he probably ran him over. It only makes sense.
WHEN MATEO DIED I HAD A WHOLE FUCKING BREAKDOWN.
WHEN HE LEFT THEIR ISLAND, HIS BED, THATS WHEN I WAS LIKE OH SHIT MATEO DONT FUCKING LEAVEEEE then he does,
HE WAS JUST TRYING TO MAKE THEM TEA
STOP
HE WAS JUST TRYNA MAKE TEA FOR HIS LOVE
HE DID NOT DESERVE THAT. AT ALL.
and so from then on I couldnāt stop crying,
WHEN THEY GOT THE BODY BAG I STARTING SOBBING LIKEā
NO. THIS ISNT HAPPENING ADAM FUCKING SILVERA. NO.
Anyways I loved the book 5/5 āļø
Out Of Context "They Both Die In The End"
I'm not responsible if I make you cry
*Spoilers for They Both Die at the End*
Something that was implied, but I only realized later:
Rufus received the call from a Death-Cast herald named Victor.
Victorās ex-fiancĆ©e, Delilah Grey, broke up with him the previous night. Delilah also received the call and thought it was a cruel prank.
Rufus meets Mateo, falls in love with Mateo, loses Mateo.
Delilah nearly escapes death twice and begins to question the alert. Fearing it was not a prank, she calls Victor from a restaurant across from Althea Park. Victor rushes to meet her in a panic.
Rufus walks to his favorite place to spend his final hours. No one is there to stop him from crossing the street as a speeding car approaches Althea Park.
Rufus was killed by his own Death-Cast herald.
This is what happened and no one can tell me otherwise.
Me to myself after finishing SoA:
"they both die in the end" by adam silvera
"...stories can make someone immortal as long as someone else is willing to listen."
"two dudes met. they fell in love. they lived. that's our story."
It's ironic how Rufus thought their meeting was how their end was written when tbh Mateo died in absence of Rufus and apparently for Rufus there was no arm to hold him back. They were keeping e/o alive! Excuse me I just--
Victor says it's not his fault Rufus is dying. Fast forward some two hundred pages and he's the one who kills Rufus
