Why they do that
i'm assuming it's a combination of trying to stay warm (emperor penguin dads do something similar!) and keeping watch for potential predators?
Oh worm that makes sense
[Video description: at least seven quail are hunkering on the ground together. They are squooshed together very tightly, and their feathers are very soft, so they blend together into a single smooth fluffy mound with tiny bird faces peeking out. Most of them face head outwards, but one is backwards. Text at the bottom says “Have you ever seen a covey of quail? Now you have.”
Below the video is an image of a head of garlic. It is the same shape as the covey of quail. However, garlic is firm, and quail are soft, fluffy, and warm like a fresh pancake. End description. ]

Rating: Cute!
These look like captive bred color mutations of the Bobwhite quail, a species of game bird native across the US even in states that deep freeze over winter. Bobwhites are often kept in captivity to be bred for food and/or native release, and their care requirements are relatively easy. Coveys in the wild also sleep like this during winter months, in order to keep warm and conserve energy before breeding season (and yes, watch for predators). Quail that are on their own or in very small groups can actually freeze to death on cold nights, which is one of their common killers over winter in the wild. These little ones are in good feather, which indicates a likelihood of general good care, as quail will readily pick on each other if their needs are not being met. They're chilly, but they're fine!

Otters will forever be the most dramatic creatures on the planet🦦
If you ever think "should I get peafowl" you should ask yourself "do I like things that scream at 115 decibels" before you decide. As evidenced here, the girls are not much quieter.
Also see if you can hear the moment one of the vets opens the door to try to talk to me.
Attention Content Creators
There’s a new Situation and because of this Situation I can’t even tag anyone to spread the word. I was recently informed that as of about 18 hrs ago at this point (Jan 1st, 1pm EST) NO NEW POSTS are showing up in ANY tag search on ANY browser/app. I’ve checked this to confirm.
Myself and many others have noticed that posts have been taking a very long time to show up in tags these past fews days (my last post took about 5 hrs). Yesterday around 2pm EST staff reported they were aware of the issue and were working on a fix. This new development appears to have started around 7pm EST, which leads me to believe it’s a result of the “fix” that’s currently in progress. Unfortunately this has made the already bad situation impossibly worse in the meantime.
I have no idea how long this will be an issue but you may want to hold off on posting any new content until it’s sorted out.

Hi :)
First off: Really thanks for all the work you and @bannedtags do.
I see a lot of people screaming at staff, which I get, they made a lot of weird decisions but to some degree this website has always still been functional and we always found a way around stuff. I worked Customer Service myself, so here's what helps because people have to scream at Apple! And any other company who tries to sanitize the internet, otherwise I'll soon have to read fanfics on P*rnh*b.
1. Delete the app, leave it a really bad review, air your frustration and then change to Desktop. But especially mention APPLE in your reviews.
1.1. Leave a bad review on the Apple
2. Chat with Apple Customer Service and tell them!
2.1. Go here, click "Apps & Features" -> "Topic is not listed" -> Write App Update is a joke or something in the text field -> You should get the Chat option.
2.2. Tell them what happened (CS probably is NOT aware, no one tells them shit), and why it is ridiculous, if words like "antis*mit*sm" (<- ridiculous!) really should be b*nned and ask why this doesn't apply to Twitter, Reddit or Facebook apps.
2.3. If they tell you are at the wrong place with them, ask them where to go with this. Ask them for an email address. So you can send your complain there.
2.4. If they tell you, they can't give you an email address, be that person and ask for a manager (politely!!!!). Everyone that's behind an advisor, can do more shit and escalate it further until it reaches people who actually have to say something.
2.5. Be nice to the person you talk to, they're just trying to get around and any case DON'T leave THEM a bad review. However this survey is phrased EVERY answer reflects on the advisor, NOT on the company. People can loose their jobs over bad surveys, even if it's NOT against them. DON'T. DO. THIS. (If there's JUST a textbox for one question, like leave a comment, leave a comment there!)
3. Here's the thing, if enough people do this, Customer Service has to act. They can't be spammed with 500 chat requests over this ONE issue a day, keeping them from working on everything they should work on, like broken phones. If enough people do it, they have to escalate it further because they see it's indeed a problem for people and that it reflects bad on the company.
4. Just leave bad reviews for Apple everywhere and mention this is why. You can't review the Apple App Store, I believe. However there are multiple Apple Apps you can review. Also Facebook, Twitter, Instagram. Just write it in the comments, tweet at them, whatever :)
5. Does it do something? Maybe, maybe not. Still better than just screaming at staff for this.
Here’s some things that might be helpful for everyone!
For anyone having trouble reading the text in black (I’m hoping there wasn’t any good reason for it to be in black instead of white):
“2.1. Go here click "Apps & Features" → "Topic is not listed" — Write App Update is a joke or something in the text field – You should get the Chat option.

Reblogging for visibility issues in original post. Thank you @pencildrawer12 !
@postplus-protest of course, let me know if you want me to delete this, but I had some potentially helpful info to add.
I’ve worked at apple for a decade and while this method might work (yes, they’ll definitely notice if the same issue crops up a thousand times) it’s not likely to get the attention that, say, a safety hazard will.
A good supplement to this might be emailing Tim Cook directly at [email protected]—and don’t worry, that’s not an internal-only email. it’s public and customer-facing for a reason.
to the best of my knowledge, there *is* a staff dedicated to reading and responding to that email. it’s sort of like calling your senator, in that a real live person will have to look at it, instead of hoping a system gets flagged often enough for a person to get involved.
More options! Always remember to be polite, concise, and don’t spam, my friends!
