You know I feel like Knot is kind of the horny yin to ABO Desire story-forward yang. Like because omegaverse is so established in fan spaces, I often forget that at its root, it was invented by kinky motherfuckers (affectionate) and is still a primarily a spicy fanfic subgenre. So sometimes I do want to read a 200k fic with deep lore and an exploration of how omegas are treated in the social hierarchy and how it can be analogous to the prejudice women face in our society, which is what I got, more or less, from ABO Desire. But sometimes I wanna read a 20k horny strangers to lovers fic where it mostly takes place during an unexpected heat and/or rut, which is more or less what I’m getting with Knot. I just kinda hope for future omegaverse live actions, we get a bit more variation like we see in fanfic.

So Phatsa apparently smells like *checks notes* cold rain and dry mud and given the um. Quality of the subs I’m just going to interpret that as meaning the guy smells like how the earth smells after a rainstorm

And I love that for many reasons bc first of all it’s also one of my favorite smells (never went quite crazy over it like nakhun does but anyway (and side note we need to get this man to Texas bc the way it smells after a Texas thunderstorm??? Maybe that’ll give Phatsa a break from his obsessiveness lol)) but it also just makes a lot of sense. At least to me

Like you step outside during a storm and the rain smells cold and fresh and clean and then the storm passes and it’s much more earthy now but the freshness is still there. You know how alive it feels? How almost purifying that scent is?

All this to say. I kind of get it. (Still shouldn’t have bitten him though like come on now)

The scene with Phatsa hugging his resume is really fucking sad because he's realizing that the future he had planned is now ruined and unobtainable.

He's now tied to a lifestyle he doesn't want and knows little to nothing about about AND to a man he doesn't know other than the fact that he forced him into this situation.

ABO is such a fucked theme and they've handled portraying the fucked up parts pretty well I think so far. They're not in your face but iykyk.
