I'm glad Jeremy owned up to this. It's expected that you apologize when called out directly but it takes courage to come forward when left anonymous to take accountability for a hurtful and shameful action.

Gaming was full of toxic gamer 'bro' culture back in RT's early days and that's exactly who it attracted. It's naive to think your favorites didn't fall into that category or were any different. It's certainly disheartening to hear just how bad it was and just how awful the people we've grown to love used to be. This is a cleansing moment. It's a moment of truth. Rooster Teeth has much to reckon with and fans of their various projects have some decisions to make. Their remaining talent has some decisions to make.

No one should be judged for whatever they decide -except Rooster Teeth which needs to be fucking sued a million times over for allowing workplace harassment, not paying employees and emotional damages.

I really feel bad for Ky, BK, Alfredo the other AH members that weren't there for the hellscape it was at the beginning but are there now when all the shit is hitting the fan and they're just stuck there watching it all burn.

Of all the companies that had a reckoning last year and made promises to Black employees and consumers/fans about diversity and protection that I know of personally, I've not seen a more legit turnaround than Rooster Teeth.

They went beyond words and performative gestures. They diversified content and staffing, including on camera talent and partnered with a wide range of streamers that varies in gender, sexual and racial identities.

More importantly they ended their "don't feed the trolls" approach to online hate. A policy that led to poc and queer on-camera staff being harassed relentlessly with no one intervening or protecting them -especially Black women (which led to Mica Burton quitting).

They've ended that policy and when their trans or Black employees speak out about harassment (I'm sure others have these are just people I've seen post), they'll post public statements condemning those groups and usually block people. Their community managers are great about keeping hate speech out of chat.

Anyway, most recently, two Black women that stream with Achievement Hunter (Ky, Black Krystel, my loves) got harassed about "being loud" from racist trolls. AH/RT called out the hypocrisy in a public statement saying they're all fucking loud so it's obvious that was targeted.

And today they took it a step further in the best way
