I've talked about this before, but if anyone out there is looking for body-positive workout material, Richard Simmons remains unparalleled.

It's all low-impact aerobics, meaning it's for fat people- people who aren't naturally athletic and aren't seeking to get super toned and super jacked but still want to move and be healthy.

that, and they're FUN. Like srsly his workouts are so FUN to do. There's a lot of his stuff in free low-res versions on Youtube and I can only hope that some day soon his estate releases his stuff for streaming at a higher res.

I asked my boyfriend how he knew he was a boy and he said he just felt this unexplainable intrinsic feeling he was a boy... and I'm like... But I'm the type of person who believe that everything has a rationale behind it, and like an adopted child who is curious about their biological parents, I am just interested in my origins! Whenever I post about how gluten sticks to certain types of material my notes/inbox either fills up with a bunch of people with celiac going "motherFUCKER" or a lot of non-gluten-intolerant people realizing they've been unknowingly poisioning heir friends and family members.

So, yeah, certain types of materials can harbor "hidden" gluten, especially if they are older or have scratches.

It might not be an issue for the person in your life, depending on their sensitivity, but if you want to cook or bake for someone who is gluten-free for medical reasons, it's advisable to have dedicated cookware for them that doesn't get used for anything else.

I don't have celiac, but my husband and I have our own pots and pans and utensils that live on opposite sides of the kitchen because my reaction is mast cell-based and gives me anaphylaxis with enough exposure. Which is another reason to take people seriously when they say they're gluten-free.

And just to be clear, you should always take gluten-free diets seriously. I don't care if you knew someone who did it for a fad or to lose weight. People's preferences should demand respect in of themselves, but there are those of us out here for whom exposure can be lethal, either in the long term or the short term.

So, yeah. Be kind. And always ask before you touch anything in our kitchen, please. I've had expensive pans ruined for me because someone thought they were doing me a kindness by doing my dishes with a sponge they'd just used to clean a bread pan with 🫠

I started selling baked goods at our local farmers market, and started having folks ask if they were gluten free (they're not). One lady mentioned that they make 1for1 GF flour i could use, and I was like, I could, but it's my home kitchen and bake ware. I couldn't guarantee it would be truly gluten free. And she was like, it'd be close enough, you could start marketing as gluten free! That would draw people in! Like, WHAT? That's so damn dangerous! Hell no!

Like. It’s not so much about “the cards are a portal to a higher wisdom that knows more than me” thing- it’s more of a, “given the symbols drawn, could I interpret them posing a question or possibility or suggestion?” Followed by, “is this applicable to my current context? COULD it be?”

Like.

I don’t lay out á tarot hand and say “ah yes, the devil and the tower, I am about to be betrayed”

But I MAY lay out a hand and say, “okay, devil and the tower. Something treacherous and danger. Am I approaching a treacherous or risky situation in my life? What might be a tipping factor? Am I being deliberately reckless? Maybe I should spend some more time working on X project I’ e been thinking of before spending money on it” or “you know what, I HAVE been kind of uncomfortable with X thing, I should say something” or “yeah okay I KNOW Tom from work sucks to work with, I KNOW, yeah maybe I should consider ways of handling that”

Less of a magic oracle, more of a tool for doing literary analysis on real life. Like simplifying everything and laying it out flat so I can gain some distance to untangle my problems without in-your-head crap like projected feelings and social obligation getting in the way and muddying the waters.

So like. I don’t think tarot cards can legit tell the future, but I DO think that self-reflection, mindfulness, and consideration sometimes allow us to predict and calculate our own circumstances.

So, IMO- It’s not real. But it works
