While the Butler is a super fun and spooky visualization for the urges your Dark Urge faces, I always loved the idea of them manifesting as the past version of you.

Imagine the potential of the same-self trial in Shar’s Guantlet. Or even if after certain events in the Temple of Bhaal, having to face and destroy that part of you once’s it’s been torn out of your blood.

Visera of course would never stab her wizard. She prefers him fully intact, human, and not blown up alongside a netherbrain.

“Aaahhh!” Baelen shouted, tossing to the floor the papers he’d been trying to read for about half an hour now. Throwing himself back against the chair, Baelen covered his eyes with a hand, pressing his temples with his fingers, trying to alleviate the headache that had been plaguing him for a few days. Since the news of Raven’s death he couldn’t focus, he wasn’t the same. Nothing was the same. At first, he’d thought she was playing with him, that the rumours of her death were a lie, a farce conjured by her, the best trickster he had ever known, and the lack of a body to prove it only made him question it even more. However, there was one tiny detail, that wasn’t so tiny after all, that made him believe it—the fucking rune he had placed on her had vanished. He couldn’t track her steps. From one moment to the next the magical link he had with her broke, and in that moment he knew something bad had happened. He ordered thorough searches for her body, just so he could see it himself, but he didn’t really need it… she was dead.

I saw this absolutely divine Astarion cosplay by @woodsmokeandwords and the “Astarion’s backstory is really sad” hit and I ran to try to do a render of their amazing cosplay shoot 🏃‍♀️💨 My little light ray is not as great as the original picture, so the second slide is the render without the light ray added. He would probably still be a puppet under his master's grasp, forced to feed only on rats, forced to keep hunting innocent people for his master every day, forced to watch them suffer till their last breath while Cazador feasted on them, then forced to please him in whatever way he wanted.
