I find that while I'm good at copying references when I actually try to put what I learned into practice I struggled, so when I have time, I'd like to come back to this study and try again but with my own original idea. (I did trace the line art by the way as it was part of the study).

I decided to draw Xie Lian and Hua Cheng for this pose. I tried to post this earlier, but I realized I drew it on a small canvas which made it blurry, so I had to resize and redraw the whole thing 😓 I was even supposed to have a background, but I didn't have enough time to fix it.

Despite the few hiccups I still had a lot of fun with the base, I think my boys came out adorable!

I'm genuinely in love with this person's drawing; it just looks so bright and full of life. So, I tried to replicate that lively feel of the drawing, but I definitely failed haha. But it was good practice and I can always try again later!

I also tried cell shading for the first time from @xiaofanchuanart that I found on TikTok, it was very helpful and easy to understand!
