Regarding his two crashes: "Step by step, we got grip, and it just kept getting better and better. The second accident wasn't related to the white line. It was my fault, a concentration error. The thing is, I was really tired today because of the stomach problems and wasn't focused enough. Then, at lunchtime, in the afternoon, I got a little energy back."
On his future and expected renewal with Ducati: "We're working on it with Ducati, but yes, ideally for them it's two years, because otherwise, you're left in the middle of nowhere. But yes, for the moment, the most important thing for me was to start with the precision, to feel better and better, and I feel a small step forward, but a step between Malaysia and here. So let's see if I continue to feel better with my physical condition. And that if I feel like today, feeling a small step forward in my shoulder and another tomorrow, it won't be a problem for me during two years. My biggest limitation is my physical condition. So yes, as I always say, when you're injured, you can't make any decisions or sign any contracts. I was trying to understand my new injury, what it was like. And I feel it's on the right track. There's still work to be done, but it's on the right track."
Regarding what it means for him to have had to spend another winter focused on injury recovery: âSpring is getting harder for me with the injuries. I still feel young mentally. But it's true that with injuries, one, another one, another one, it leaves my body more battered and makes it take longer. That's why this winter has felt so long. And yes, we're still working on it. We still have two more weeks after the Thailand race. So we'll see if we can continue to evolve.â

No but for real if Vale was an actual doctor instead of a doctor of speed and road rash what do you think heâd specialise in?
maybe the dentist
what were they like between 2016-2019? and i assume marc's crash brought a change then? and also probably valentino's retirement in 2021
as the perpetually correct match @marquezism said. the problem is marc was in love with him.
seriously anon they were hot and cold yes and no in and out up and down. 2016? weird reconciliation off the back of a tragic weekend and one of their best on track battles. dead behind the eyes one year divorceversary press conference. 2017? marc caught staring longingly at least thrice (1) (2) (3) (4). randomly fine with each other at odd intervals. bullying sete together. vale saying This about him. the LOVE BITE. 2018? marc rampage in argentina. misano handshake refusal featuring marc saying for me no problem while smiling through visible tears. 2019? extra funny because they had a handshake in argentine one year post war crimes and were kinda. cordial at jerez and silverstone (1) (2) and then, one (1) week later was misano and like what the fuck was this. why was marc celebrating like he won the championship. why did marc say this. why was vale looking at him like this afterwards. and like this after he actually won the championship. anywayÂ
as you say, marc missed a lot of 2020 due to Arm. this coupled with social distancing and vale kinda flopping meant they probably didnât interact much, if at all. 2021 came with a drop to the petronas team for vale and a few more missed races for marcâcrucially, he missed valencia (valeâs last race) due to diplopia, and now they fight through podcasts and bitchy soundbites god bless
2018 Silverstone GP Sky sports Italy Interview
Interviewer: Thereâs a photo where youâre all together â one taken at the Ranch. Itâs one of those archive photos weâll probably never see again.
Marc: Never say neverâŠ
Interviewer: You know what I mean.
Marc: Yes, I know where youâre going with this. It was a really, really beautiful day. I learned a lot there. The track is amazing, the Ranch is amazing.
It was one of those days you remember everything about â every little detail of how it went.
We did a practice session first; there was even a TV showing the lap times.
Then we did what they called an âAmericanaâ race. It was fun.
Interviewer: I donât know if heâd ever invite you again â but if he did, would you go?
Marc: It depends on the moment and I have no ideaâŠ
Interviewer: Would you return if he REALLY invited u back?
Marc: Would I return if he invited me back? Donât worryâŠHe is not going to invite me anymore.

The number of terrible crimesđđđ
I am fairly new to motogp as a whole and while I have an appreciation for several retired riders, I have not yet been able to develop an appreciation for Casey Stoner. Surely this is a skill issue on my part, but can you recommend any reading or viewing for me to do on the topic?
OKAY, HI, WELCOME ANON, thank you for seeing the light and I definitely have a few recs for you and actually maybe I went a little overboard but wtv. I linked everything that was free online :) bcs i love you :) and donât want you to die finding everything :)
Races -> 2007 like in general but also catalunya(!) heavy recommend, 2011 too ofc, Laguna Seca 2008 (and every other race there), Phillip Island 2009 [Highlights], idk if you want race recs at all so Iâll get off of it

Hitting the Apex [Tubi]
Pretty famous documentary around motogp circles I think but if you havenât watched it, please do! The only bad thing is that itâs voiced by Brad Pitt but other than that it gives a great overview of the aliens and their rivalry
G**** Tales interview
Okay. I have big feelings about this interviewer. Itâs 4hrs long (thatâs why I put it in this category) and the host is insufferable but great resource for casey stoner-isms post-retirement anyway sadly
casey's actually been compared to Mick with how much he refuses to do media (sorry I have a pathological need to mention mick always) so there aren't much in the means of documentaries on him but he pops up in every documentary on MotoGP and valentino and of that there are quite a few so

thatâs how valentino got into everyoneâs hearts, early 2000s sports tv broadcast quality, a little grainy, maybe even some snow on the screen, and then there he is, a man with the most beautiful smile youâve ever seen, filling the whole frame like he owns it
