seriously anon they were hot and cold yes and no in and out up and down. 2016? weird reconciliation off the back of a tragic weekend and one of their best on track battles. dead behind the eyes one year divorceversary press conference. 2017? marc caught staring longingly at least thrice (1) (2) (3) (4). randomly fine with each other at odd intervals. bullying sete together. vale saying This about him. the LOVE BITE. 2018? marc rampage in argentina. misano handshake refusal featuring marc saying for me no problem while smiling through visible tears. 2019? extra funny because they had a handshake in argentine one year post war crimes and were kinda. cordial at jerez and silverstone (1) (2) and then, one (1) week later was misano and like what the fuck was this. why was marc celebrating like he won the championship. why did marc say this. why was vale looking at him like this afterwards. and like this after he actually won the championship. anyway

as you say, marc missed a lot of 2020 due to Arm. this coupled with social distancing and vale kinda flopping meant they probably didn’t interact much, if at all. 2021 came with a drop to the petronas team for vale and a few more missed races for marc—crucially, he missed valencia (vale’s last race) due to diplopia, and now they fight through podcasts and bitchy soundbites god bless

Marc: Yes, I know where you’re going with this. It was a really, really beautiful day. I learned a lot there. The track is amazing, the Ranch is amazing.

It was one of those days you remember everything about — every little detail of how it went.

We did a practice session first; there was even a TV showing the lap times.

Then we did what they called an “Americana” race. It was fun.

Interviewer: I don’t know if he’d ever invite you again — but if he did, would you go?

Marc: It depends on the moment and I have no idea…

Interviewer: Would you return if he REALLY invited u back?

Marc: Would I return if he invited me back? Don’t worry…He is not going to invite me anymore.

I am fairly new to motogp as a whole and while I have an appreciation for several retired riders, I have not yet been able to develop an appreciation for Casey Stoner. Surely this is a skill issue on my part, but can you recommend any reading or viewing for me to do on the topic?
