Artisan's Asylum is a great little community of makers that work together in Somerville, and is the place where we do our drum building. Obviously, a Harlem Shake video had to happen.

Rutsubo Taiko at Diamond Middle School in Lexington, MA!
설장고
This is making the rounds on Facebook (thank you, Tiffany Tamaribuchi and John Ko!), and it comes at an interesting time where conversations about the katsugi style have crept their way between words about what song we're learning next and doing our very own Rutsubo Harlem Shake (reference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uB_Id1UOM6E). During the Nemo storm madness, a friend was lamenting the way that this style is reserved for women only (though Youtube shows evidence to the contrary here. Maybe it's as striking to see a man in this role as it is seeing a woman playing odaiko!) and we recently bothered Mark Rooney about his practice okedo designs. To be honest though, the style is sexy... and we want in. On the sexy. Are you up for a project?
While the blizzard made it difficult for Rutsubo to get together this weekend and gush over how amazing this conference was, we'd still like to thank Brown Gendo Taiko and Cornell Yamatai Taiko for hosting, particularly our organizers Sam Huang and Ingrid Tu! More recollections and musings to come!

This should probably be distributed.
